HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1267 I s y RESOLUTION NO. 1267 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING THE MERAL PREVAILING RATE OF HOURLY WAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORK- MAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED IN THE RESURFACING OF WALNUT AVENUE FROM FIRST STREET TO FIFTH STREET, r OLIVE AVENUE FROM FIRST STREET TO SEVENTEENTH STREET, ORANGE AVENUE FROM LAKE AVENUE TO SEVENTEENTH STREET, SECOND STREET FROM OCEAN AVENUE TO LAKE AVENUE, SIXTH STREET FROM WALNUT AVENUE TO ORANGE AVENUE, AND EIGHTH STREET FROM V.LNUT AVENUE TO ORANGE AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the general pre- vailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen needed in the resurfacing of Walnut Avenue from First Street to Fifth Suet, Olive Avenue from First Street to Seventeenth Street, Orange Avenue from Lake Avenue to Seventeenth Street, Second Street from Ocean Avenue to Lake Avenue, Sixth Street from Walnut Avenue to Orange Avenue, and Eighth Street from Walnut Avenue to Orange Avenue, in the City- of Huntington Beach, and has considered evidence presented. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Huntington. Beach does hereby find, establish and determine that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for work- men needed in the resurfacing portions of Walnut Avenue, Olive Avenue, Orange Avenue, Second Street, Sixth Street and Eighth Street, within the City of Huntington Beach and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work, is as follows: �1} 1 Reso. 'Where Operating Engineers., (2) Reso. No. 1267 during any one calendar day, are working overtime on the same unit of a project on Which another craft is working overtime at the double time rate., then the Operating Engineers on such unit of work shall also be paid at the double time rate* A unit of the project means any single building., facility, utility, or any other single structure which is independent of any other unit of the project. The operation of a crushing plant f or stock pile and the servicing,, repairing., and maintenance of equipment on a project shall be at time and one-half., except in the following two instances: lo Sundays and holidays. 2* Where the equipment operator is repairing his equipment on a unit of the project where double time is being paid in that calendar day, When the Operating Engineer is working on a project as an integral part of a crew where another craft is receiving overtime pay by virtue of a holiday not specified in the Master Labor Agreement,9 then the Operating Engineer shall receive the same overtime rate as the other craft* The rates per hour, indicated above are based 'upon the local pre- vailing rates per day being eight times the above scheduled rate per hour* Hourly rates of pay, based upon eight hours per day for a full day of a day shall be the applicable rate per hour multiplied by the number of hours worked on said day other than for overtime and/or Sundays or Legal Holidays* PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California., at regular meeting thereof held on the 5th (3) Reso.
