AN ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL VACATING
A PORTION OF NM LAND STREET IN THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, did by unanimous vote on the 4th day .
of September, 1956, at a regular meeting of said body, reg-
ularly and duly adopt Resolution No. 1290, entitled "A Res-
olution of Intention of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach to Vacate a portion of Newland Street
in said City and giving Notice of a Hearing on said Vacation";
and
M WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach did elect to proceed under the provisions of the
Street Vacation Act of 1941; and
WHEREAS, the portion of the street to be vacated lies::
within the City of Huntington Beach and is not a portion of
a state highway; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach
r did cause a copy of said resolution of intention to be pub-
lished in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general
circulation printed and published in the City of Huntington
Beach, by one insertion on the 13th day of September, 1956;
and
WHEREAS, said resolution contained a notice that the
1st day of October, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.

in thi) Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach,
was the time and place when and where a public hearing was
to be held upon said resolution of intention, at which hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed
vacation may be heard; and
WHEREAS, notice of street vacation was posted as re-
quired by law; and
WHEREAS, there were no protests or persons appearing
against said proposed street vacation at said hearing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach finds and determines from all the evidence submitted
that the portion of Newland Street described in said Resolu-
tion No. 1290 is unnecessary for present or prospective pub-
lic street purposes:
NOd THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: That it is ordered that that portion of
Newland Street in the City of Huntington Beach described as
"That portion of Newland Street lying within
the Fractional South half of Section 13 in
Township 6 South, Range 11 West, in the
Rancho Las Bolsas and which extends Norther-
ly from the Northeasterly line of the Pacific
Coast Highway, Highway 101 Alternate , as now
established, to a line described as follows:

Beginning at a point in a line that is
parallel with and 40 feet Southeasterly meas-
ured at right angles, from the Northwesterly
line of the land conveyed by deed to Southern
0 California Edison Company, dated August 2,
1956 and recorded in Book 3602, page 171, of
Official Records in the office of the County
Recorder of said County, said point being
South 340 35' 30" West 48-36 feet measured
along said parallel line from the intersec-
tion thereof with the West line of said New-
land Street, said point being the beginning
• of a curve concave Westerly and having a
radius of 370.00 feet, said curve being tan-
gent to said parallel line at said point and
being also tangent to the East line of said
Newland Street; thence Northerly along said
curve 227-78 feet, to the end of same , being
a point in the East line of said Newland

Section 2; That the City Clerk is hereby authoriz-
ed and directed to cause a certified copy of this Order,

in the office of the County Recorder of Orange County,
California.

I, JOHN L. HENRICKSEN, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do here-
by certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the
foregoing Order was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said
City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 1,t
day of October, 1956, by the following roll call vote:
