RESOLUTION No. 1295
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO LEASE CITY
OWNED PROPERTY FOR OIL AND GAS PURPOSES
WHEREAS, city has an interest in the hereinafter de-
scribed real property; and
WHEREAS, offers have been made to the city for
leases on said real property for oil and gas purposes;
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises, the
City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does resolve
as follows:
1. That the City Council does hereby resolve and de-
termine that it will be for the best interest of the city
to lease the following described real property for the
purpose of exploration for and production of oil, gas and
other hydrocarbon substances:
PARCEL 1. Lots 21, 23, 25, 26, 27 and 28,
Block 311+, Huntington Beach Tract, as per
map recorded in Book 3, Page 36, Miscell-
aneous Maps, Records of Orange County,
California.

2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of said in-
tention to enter into oil,,.--and gas leases be published
in accordance with Article 245 of the Huntington Beach
Ordinance Code and that the said proposals be submitted to
the City Council before 7:30 P.M. on the 3rd day of
December , 1956, at which time the City Council
will consider the proposals.
3. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said leases shall
contain the following terms, conditions and provisions:
1. Drilling operations on said property shall
be cbmm6need ,within� sixty. (60) daysq
2. Landowner' s royalty to city shall be not
less than one-sixth (1/6th) ,
3. Lessees' operations upon the property shall
be in accordance with all applicable rules,

regulations, laws and ordinances of the
City of Huntington Beach and any other gov-
ernmental agency or body having jurisdiction,
4. The leased premises shall at all times be
kept in a neat, clean and orderly manner, and
5. At the expiration or sooner termination of

the leases, any wells drilled upon said
property shall be abandoned in accordance
with applicable rules and regulations and
lessees shall remove all of the cement
and debris from the property, remove all

oil soaked ground and replace with clean
soil and leave said premises in a neat,
clean and orderly condition.
BE IT 'FURTHER RESOLVED that the leases cover the
interest of the city in the said described property and
that no reduction of royalty payments to city shall be made
in the event that the City owns less than the fee simple
title.
PASSED ,AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting held on
the 19th day of November, 1956.

I, JOHN L. HENRICKSEN, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach,
and ex-of 'icio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do
hereby certify that the whole number of members of the
City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that
the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the members
of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 19th day of November, 1956, by the following vote:
