A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH CONSENTING TO
THE C011,!ENCEML:z•dT OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS
FOR THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF HUNTING-
TON BEACH OF CERTAIN INHABITED AND UNIN-
CORPORATED TERRITORY IN THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE, STATE OF CALIr'ORNIA, COT,!TIGUOUS
TO THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DESIGNA-
TED AS "EAST ANNEXATION"
WHEREAS, on March 27th, 1957, a petition was present-
ed to the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach re-
questing the Council to give its consent to the commencement
of annexation proceedings in connection with that certain
inhabited territory therein referred to and general describ-
ed, which is contiguous to the City of Huntington Beach; and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning
Commission of the City of Huntington Beach for investigation,
report and recommendation; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report
and recommendation to the Council on the 8th day of April,
1957, favoring the commencement of annexation proceedings;
• and
WHEREAS, the County Boundary Commission of Orange County
has heretofore approved the proposed boundary of said
Extension as to definiteness and certainty; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give
its consent to the cor_mencement of such annexation proceed-

ings upon condition that the electors within said territory
be informed at the time the petition for annexation is cir-
culated that the question to be submitted to said electors
shall be whether the territory shall be annexed and the prop-
erty in the territory subjected to taxation after annexation.

Huntington Beach outstanding or authorized at the date of
the filing of the petition for annexation for the acquisi-
tion, construction or completion of municipal improvements.
NQ1, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach:
Section 1. That consent be and hereby is granted for
the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection
with the said inhabited territory in accordance with the An-
nexation Act of 1913 provided the petition for annexation
contains a request that the question to be submitted to the
electors residing in the territory proposed to be annexed
f shall be whether the territory shall be annexed and the
property in the territory subjected to taxation after annex-
ation equally with property within the City of Huntington
Beach to pay the bonded indebtedness of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach outstanding or authorized at the date of the filing
of the petition for annexation for the acquisition, construc-
tion or completion of municipal improvements.

Section 2: That said unincorporated territory be
and hereby is designated as the "East annexation" , is
bounded generally as follows:
Easterly of the East City Limits of Hunting-
ton Beach, to the Santa Ana River and from
Garfield Street Southerly to the present City
Limits of Huntington Beach.
The following is a legal description
of said territory:
Beginning at an angle point in the boundary
line of the City of Huntington Beach as now
'i established, said point being in the South
line of the Northwest quarter (N ) of Sec-
tion 1, Township 6 South, Range 11 West, San
Bernardino Meridian and distant thereon
East 1188 feet, more or less from the South-
west corner of the Northwest quarter of said
Section 1, said point also being the South-
west corner of the East 1- Acres of the South-
west quarter (Stag) of the Northwest quarter
(N ) of said Section 1; thence North 1320
feet, more or less, along the West line of
said East 4 Acres to the Northwest corner of
said East 4 Acres; thence East 132 feet, more
or less, to the Northwest corner of the South-

east quarter ( SE4) of the Northwest quarter
(Nj) of said Section 1• thence Northerly
along quarter, quarter section lines to an
intersection with a line drawn parallel with
and 30 feet North, measured at right angles
• from the South line of Section 36, Township
5 South, Range 11 Vest, San Bernardino Merid-
ian; thence Easterly along said parallel
line to an intersection with the West line of
the East half (E2) of the Southeast quarter
(SI¢) of the Southwest quarter (STD) of said
Section 36; thence South 10 feet along said

drawn parallel to and 20 feet North, measured
at right angles from the South line of said
Section 36; thence East along said Parallel
line and its Easterly prolongation to an in-
tersection with a line drawn parallel to and
distant 30 feet Easterly, measured at right
angles from the Vest line of Section 31,
Township 5 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardi-
no Meridian; thence Northerly along said para-
llel line to an intersection with a line drawn
parallel to and distant 30.00 feet Northerly,
measured at right angles from the South line
of said Section 31; thence Easterly along

said parallel line and along a line that is
parallel with and 30.00 feet Northerly, meas-
ured at right angles from the South line of
Section 32, said Township and Range, to an
• intersection with the Westerly line of the
Santa Ana River Channel as shown on a map
Recorded in Book 12, Pages 25 to 31 inclusive
of Records of Surveys, on file in the office
of the County Recorder; thence Southwesterly
2.25 miles, more or less, along the said
Westerly line of the Santa Ana River Channel
as shown on the Records of Surveys Maps,

hereinabove mentioned, to an intersection
with the boundary line of the City of Costa
Mesa, as now established; thence Westerly
and Southerly, along said boundary line to a
point in the boundary line of the City of
Huntington Beach as now established in the
North line of Section 19, Township 6 South,
• Range 10 West , San Bernardino Meridian;
thence Westerly, Northerly, Westerly and
Northerly 4.5 miles, more or less, following
along the boundary line of the City cif

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular adjourned
