RESOLUTION No. 1317
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF-
ORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE
SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY,
AUGUST 6th 1957, PERTAINING TO THE
EAST ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, did, by resolution duly and regularly
adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council, call
for and provide for the holding of the Special Election
held on Tuesday, August 6th, 1957, pertaining to the East
Annexation to the City of Huntington Beach; and
WHEREAS, due notice of the holding of said Special
Election has heretofore been given at the time and in
the manner provided by law.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach, California, do hereby resolve, determine
and declare as follows:
Section 1. (a) That the proposition submitted to the
voters at such election was as follows:
"SHALL THE EAST ANNEXATION EE ANNEXED TO THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AND THE PROPERTY IN
SUCH TERRITORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION,
SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUALLY WITH THE PROIE RTY

WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, TO PAY
THE ENTIRE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, OUTSTANDING OR AUTHORIZED
AT THE DATE (' THE FIRST PUBLICATION OF THE
NOTICE OF ELECTION, FOR THE ACQUISITION,CON-
STRUCTION OR COMPLETION OF MUNICIPAL IMPROVE-
MENTS."
(b) That the whole number of votes cast
in the area designated as the East Annexation at said
Special Election, including all absentee votes is 15.
(c) That the name of the Annexation
voted for, the number of votes given in each precinct
to the East Annexation, together with the whole number
of votes which the said East Annexation received in
the entire area, are as follows:

Section 2. It is hereby found and declared that the
area known as the East Annexation was voted to be annexed
to the City of Huntington Beach by a majority of the votes
cast.
Section 3, The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter
on the records of the City Council a statement of the result
of said election as required by law.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall attest and cer-
tify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution by a
majority of the votes of the members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, by a vote of more than a
majority of all its members, at a regular meeting of said
City Council held on the i tin day of Auscust 1957.

I, JOHN L. HENRICKSEN, the duly elected, quali-
fied and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington
Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said
City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members
of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is
five; that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all
the members of said City Council at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 19th day of August 1957, by
the following vote:
