A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUXCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUBMITTING A
PROPOSITION T THE VOTERS FOR THY ADOPT-
ION O AN ORDINniNCT HWING TITHIE Cic,?.DICE QF
THE CITY ATTORAEYIAN APPOINTIVE OFFICE.
The City Council of the City of Huntington. Beach do
resole as follows:
That at the General Municipal Election, to be held in
the City of Huntington Beach on April. 81 19587 there shall..
be submitted to the qualified electors of said City a prop-
osition to adopt an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 402,
whi6h ordinance has been codified as Section, 1241, of the
untington Beach Ordinance Code , to make the office of
City Attorney an appointive office.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Ordinance so submitted
to the voters, shall be in words and figures as follows:

SECTION 1241 OF THE FyUNTINGTON BEACH
ORDINANCE CODE.
The People of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain
as follows:
Section. 1. That Section 1241 of the Hun tin;ton
Beach Ordinance Code be and the same is hereby
amended to read in words and figures as follows:

Section 1241. ointment of City Attorney: The
City Attorney shall be appointed by the City Counc-
il and shall role office at the pleasure of the
Council.
Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same
to be published by one insertion in the Huntington
Beach News, a weekly newspaper published prime
and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach,
Orange County, California, and this ordinance shall
fake effect and be in force , as provided by law,
} BE IT FURTHER RESOWED that the City Jerk be and he is
hereby instructed to cause a preposition. for the adoption
of said ordinance to be printed on the ballot to be used
at the General Municipal. Election to be held on April 8the
1958, and that said proposition is to be printed on the
ballot in substantially the following form:

19 JOHN L. HENRICKSEN, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do here-
by certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the
foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirma-
tive vote of more than a majority of all the members of
said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the
23rd day of December _, 1957, by the following roll
call vote :
