RESOLUTION No. 1328
A RESOLUTTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH GIVING NOTICE:'
OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF HUNTING-
TON BEACH OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED
TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED
AS "HARPER ANNEXATION11 , AND GIVING NOTICE
OF TINE AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS
THERETO
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH:
1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939,11 a petition signed by
owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the
hereinafter described territory by area and by assessed
value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of
the County of Orange, was filed with the Council of the
City of Huntington Beach on December 16, 1957, requesting
annexation of the hereinafter described territory to said
City; that said territory which said petitioners request
be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and which said
City and its Council propose to annex to the City of
Huntington Beach is situate in the County of Orange , State
of California, hereby designated "Harper Annexation" , and
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the
East line of the West half 04) of the South-
west quarter (SG-J) of Section 36, Township 5
South, Range 11 West, S.B.N. , with a line 'drawn

parallel to and distant 30 feet North, measur-
ed at right angles from the South line of said
Section 36, said point being in the boundary
line of the City of Huntington Beach as now es-
tablished; thence North 2630 feet, more or less,
along said boundary line to an intersection with
the North line of Ellis Avenue, 40 feet wide ,
as now laid out; thence , leaving the boundary
line of the City of Huntington Beach, East 330
feet, more or less, along said North line of
Ellis Avenue to an intersection with the boundary
line of the City of Fountain Valley, as now es-
tablished; thence, in a general Southerly direct-
ion following along said boundary line of the
City of Fountain Valley, said line also being
the boundary line of the Talbert drainage dis-
trict, as now established to an intersection
with a line drawn parallel to and distant twenty
(20) feet North, measured at right angles from
the South line of said Section 36• thence West
115 feet, more or less, along said parallel line
to an intersection with the West line of the
East half (Er) of the Southeast quarter (SE')
of the Southwest quarter (SU-i!-) of said Section
36; thence North 10 feet along said West line
to an intersection with a line drawn parallel
to and distant 30 feet North, measured at riht
angles from the South line of said Section 39;
thence West 660 feet, more or less, along said
parallel line to the point of beginning."
2. That the County Boundary Commission of Orange
County, California, did in session duly assembled on
October 14, 1957, approve the proposed annexation bounda-
ries of said "Harper Annexation" , as above described,
and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of
said annexation of said territory to said city.
3. That Monday, , February 17th , 195 8 , at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, in the Council
Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Huntington Beach,

County of Orange, California, is hereby fixed as the time
and place i•,rhen and where any person owning property within
the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to
be -annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and having any
objection to the proposed annexation may appear before the
Council of the City of Huntington Beach and show cause why
such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said
City of Huntington Beach. Such protest must be in writing,
may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the
name or names of the owner or owners of property affected
and the description and area of such property in general
terms.
1+. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach is
hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this
resolution to be published at least twice , but not oftener
than once a week, in"Huntington Beach News" a newspaper of
general circulation published in said City of Huntington
Beach, the city to which it is proposed to annex the afore-
said territory, and also in ":-Iestminster Herald" , a news-
paper of general circulation published outside the City of
Huntington Beach, but in the County of Orange, California,
the county in which is located the territory proposed to
be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach, said publication
to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date
set for hearing.

And the said City Clerk is further authorized and di-
rected to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to each person to whom land within the terr-
itory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last
equalized county assessment roll available on the date the
above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on
said assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any
person who has filed his name and address and the designa-
tion of the lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable with said Clerk, such notice to be given
not less than twenty (20) days before the first public
hearing on the proposed annexation.
And in the event any land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is owned by a county, the said City Clerk is
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county,
such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days be-
fore the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally
entitled thereto, in the manner required by law.
PASSED ADM ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 23rit day of December 1951-.

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do here-
by certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five ; that the
foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirma-
tive vote of more than a majority of all the members of
said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the
23rd day of Dece=ber , 1957, by the following vote :
