A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH GRANTING
PERMISSION T4 THE CITY OF LONG BEACH,
A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION, TO INSTALL
A PIPE LINE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF
GAS WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
,BEACH UPON CERTAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Long Beach, a municipal cor-
poration of the State of California, has by letter dated
January 14, 1958, made application to the City for
authority to install a pipe line for the transportation
of gas along and under Garfield Avenue from Edwards
Street to Newland Street and along Newland Street from
Garfield Avenue to the Southern California Edison Com-
pany's steam generating plant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach is willing
to grant said authorization to the City of bong Beach, a
municipal corporation, pursuant to Sections 10101, 10102
and 10103 of the State Public Utilities Code, upon
certain terms and conditions.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach that the City of Long
Beach, a municipal corporation of the State of California,
be and it is hereby granted the right to construct,
operate and maintain a pipe line for the transportation
of gas, with its necessary appurtenances, along, in and
under that portion of Garfield Avenue from Edwards Street
to Newland

Street, and in and under that portion of Newland Street
from Garfield Avenue to the Southern California Edison
steam generating plant in such manner as to afford securi-
ty for life and property, and subject to the following
terms and conditions:
(a) Prior to commencing any constructions the City
of Long Beach, a municipal corporation, shall make appli-
cation to the SuDerintendent of Streets of the City of
Huntington Beach for a permit under the provisions of
Chapter 72 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, and in
the construction, operation and maintenance of said pipe
line, shall comply in all particulars, with the terms
and conditions of the permit issued under and pursuant
to said Ordinance Code, pursuant to such application, and
with any and all applicable ordinances of the City of
Huntington Beach.
(b) The City of Long Beach, a municipal corporation,
shall comply in all particulars with all laws of the
State of California, relating to the use of city streets
for pipe lines for the transportation of gas.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Eiuntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting there«
of held on the 20th day of January, 1958.
