HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1346 RESOLUTION NO. 1346 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF- ORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY, APR IL 89 1958, IN SAID CITY. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, did, by resolution duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of said Council call for and provide for the holding of the general municipal election within said City of Huntington Beach on the 8th day of April, 1958, and WHEREAS, due notice of the holding of said general election has heretofore been given at the time and in the manner provided by law, NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, do hereby resolve, determine and declare as follows: Section is (a) That the whole number of votes cast in the City of Huntington Beach at said general election, including all absentee votes, is 2401 (b) That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted; the number of votes given in each precinct to each of said persons, the absentee votes given to each of said persons, together with the whole number of votes which said persons received in the entire city, are as follows: -1- I , Names of persons Absentee Total voted for: Office Consolidated Precincts Total Votes Votes 1 2 3 �.. .�. 6 7 8 ..9 Ted W. Lambert Councilman Noble J. Waite Councilman Charles A. Bauer City Attorney Ben H. Dulaney Chief of Police Section 3: (a) That the measures voted upon at said general election were designated as follows: Measure No. 1: Shall the ordinance fixing the monthly compen- sation at the rate of $100.00 per month for each member of the City Council serving in that capacity after the canvass of the ballots of the General Municipal Election, in April, 1960, be adopted? Measure No. 2: Shall the ordinance amending Section 1261 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code to make the office of the Chief of Police of Huntington Beach, an appointive office, be adopted? Measure No. 3: Shall the ordinance amending Section 1241 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code to make the office of the City Attorney of Huntington Beach, an appointive office, be adopted? Section 6: The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each of such persons elected a certification of election signed by him and duly authenticated. He shall also impose the constitutional oath of office and have each of said persons sub- scribe therto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been elected. Section 7: That the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution by a majority of the votes of the members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach. -5- Resolution No. 1346 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, by a vote of more than a majority of all. i.ts. members, at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 14th day of April, 1958. HEMCKSEN, the duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all members of said City Council at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 14th day of April, 1958, by the following vote: AYES: Councilmen BRYANT, LOCK E'1T9 IRB'Y, BARTLETT, TERRY NOES: Councilmen None ABSENT: Councilmen None Ci Clerk and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California w7w
