A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF-
ORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON
TUESDAY, APR IL 89 1958, IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach,
California, did, by resolution duly and regularly adopted at a
regular meeting of said Council call for and provide for the holding
of the general municipal election within said City of Huntington
Beach on the 8th day of April, 1958, and
WHEREAS, due notice of the holding of said general election
has heretofore been given at the time and in the manner provided by
law,
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, do hereby resolve, determine and declare as follows:
Section is (a) That the whole number of votes cast in the
City of Huntington Beach at said general election, including all
absentee votes, is 2401
(b) That the names of the persons voted for,
the offices for which they were voted; the number of votes given in
each precinct to each of said persons, the absentee votes given to
each of said persons, together with the whole number of votes which
said persons received in the entire city, are as follows:

Section 2: It is hereby found and declared that the following
named persons were elected to the respective offices indicated opposite
their names, to-wit:
Robert M. Lambert Councilman
Noble J. Waite Councilman
Charles A. Bauer City Attorney
Ben H. Dulaney Chief of Police
Section 3: (a) That the measures voted upon at said general
election were designated as follows:
Measure No. 1: Shall the ordinance fixing the monthly compen-
sation at the rate of $100.00 per month for each member of the City
Council serving in that capacity after the canvass of the ballots of the
General Municipal Election, in April, 1960, be adopted?
Measure No. 2: Shall the ordinance amending Section 1261 of
the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code to make the office of the Chief of
Police of Huntington Beach, an appointive office, be adopted?
Measure No. 3: Shall the ordinance amending Section 1241 of
the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code to make the office of the City
Attorney of Huntington Beach, an appointive office, be adopted?
(b) That the number of votes given in each
precinct for and against said measures, together with the whole number
of votes given for and against said measures, are as follows:

Resolution No. 1346 ,
Section 4: It is hereby found and declared that the
following measures were adopted or defeated as follows, to wit:
Measure No. 1 Defeated
Measure No. 2 Defeated
Measure No. 3 Defeated
Section 5: The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter on
the records of the City Council a statement of the result of said
election as required by law.
Section 6: The City Clerk shall immediately make and
deliver to each of such persons elected a certification of election
signed by him and duly authenticated. He shall also impose the
constitutional oath of office and have each of said persons sub-
scribe therto, whereupon they shall be inducted into the respective
offices to which they have been elected.
Section 7: That the City Clerk shall attest and certify
to the passage and adoption of this Resolution by a majority of the
votes of the members of the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, by a vote of more than a majority
of all. i.ts. members, at a regular meeting of said City Council
held on the 14th day of April, 1958.

I, JOHN L. HEMCKSEN, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-officio
Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach is five; that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted
by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all members of
said City Council at a regular meeting of said City Council held on
the 14th day of April, 1958, by the following vote:
