HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1352 RESOLUTION No, 1352 A RESOLUTION OF T11E CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH CONSE14T TO THE C O1,1ENCE1,MNT OF ANIMATION 'ROCMD- IN'GS FOR THE ANNEATION TO TI7M CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OF CERTAIN INHABITED AND UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY IN THN COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE_ OF CALIa�'ORNIA., COT TIGUOUS TO TM CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, DESIGNATED AS "IMIDWAY CITY AN ATIONt' AMEREAS, on November 21st, 1958, a petition was filed with the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach request" ing the Council to give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with that certain. in- habited territory therein referred to and generally described which is contiguous to the City of Huntington Beach; and I, IEREAS, at a special meeting of the City Council on November 2)+th, 1958,said petition was referred to the Planning Commission of the City of Huntington Beach for investigation, report and recommendation- and IWHEREAS, the Planning Commission rendered its report and recommendation to the council on tim 21-th day of November, 1958, favoring the commencement of annexation proceedings; and ItEMBEAS, the County Boundary Commission of Orange Colanty has heretofore approved the proposed boundary of said exten- sion as to definiteness and certainty; and WIMIRMIS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its consent to the co-nPimencement of such annexation proceedings upon condition that the electors Lthin said territory be in- formed at. the time the petition .for annexation is circulated that the question to be submitted to said electors shall be 1$ Res. No. 1352 whether the territory shall be annexed and the property in the territory subjected to taxation after annexation equally with the property within the City of Huntington. Beach to pay the entire banded indebtedness of the City of Huntington Beach outstanding or authorized at the date of the filing of the petition for annexation for the acquisition, construct- ion or completion of municipal 'improvements. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach; Section 1. Northerly of Heil Avenue, easterly of Huntington Beach Boulevard and Lincoln ,Avenue , as shown and projected, south- erly of Hazard avenue and westerly of Bushard Street. No. 1352 Beginning at the intersection of North and South one- quarter section line running through the center of Sec- tion 14, Township 5 South,Range 11 WestSan Bernardino Meridian,with the North line of the South half (- ) of the Northeast quarter (TEg) of said Section 14, T 5 S, R 11 T SBM: said intersection also being an intersec- tion of the boundaries of the City of Westminster and the City of Huntington Beach as they now exist, thence leaving the said intersection in a direct line norther- ly on the quarter section line running through the center of Section 14 and Section 11, said Township and Range, to the East and Vest one-quarter Section line running through the center of said Section ll; thence Easterly along said one-quarter Section line to the East line of said Section 11; thence Southerly along said East line to a line that is parallel with and 20.00 feet Southerly, as measured at right angles, from the South line of the Forth one-half (N') of Section 12 said Township and Range; thence Easterly along said parallel line to an intersection with the East line of the West 102.00 feet of the Southwest one-quarter (S ) of said Section 12; thence Southerly along said East line to the intersection of said East line with the North line of Roosevelt ,Avenue, now 60 feet in: width.; thence Easterly along .said Forth line of Roosevelt ,Avenue to the West line of the East 30.00 feet of the Res.
