A RESOLUTION OF THE CI`E Y OF HUN`CINGTO
BEACH CALLING A SPECIAL REFERENDU l
ELECTION 10 BE HELD ON TRH 9th DAY OF
JUNK:, 1959.
KERE.A.S, the City Council did on the 16th day of
February, 1959, adopt Ordinance No. 706, entitled,
"Ali ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH .AMENDING
THE HU[t?TINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE; ADOPTING A ZONING
PLAN BEING A PRECISED SECTION OF TEE LAND USE PLAN UNIT
OF TEE FASTER PLAN AND AN OFFICIAL PLAN OF SAID CITY:
SPECIFYING THE PURPOSES .AND EFFECTS OF TEE ADOPTION OF
SAID PLAN WHEREBY VARIOUS DISTRICTS ARE ESTABLISHED IN
SAID CITY: SPECIFYING THE USES OF LAND AND OF BUILDINGS
PERMITTED IN SAID DISTRICTS; REQUIRING CERTAIN YARDS AND
OTHER OPEN SPACES WITHIN SAID DISTRICTS; PRESCRIBING FOR
TEE ERECTION, CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION AND MkINTEN.ANCE OF
BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS IN SAID LI.S-
TRICTS, INCLU.OIK TEE REQUIREMENTS THAT CERTAIN PER]KITS
SHALL BE SECURED FOR CERTAIN OF SUCH BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES
AND IMPROVEMENTS, .AND FOR TEE USE THEREOF .AND OF LAND:
DEFINING THE TERMS USED HEREIN: SPECIFYING TEE PROCEDURE
FOR. TEE AMENDMENT HEREOF: REPEALING .ALL ORDINANCES OR
PARTS OF ORDINANCES I3 CONFLICT k R& ITH: AND PRESCRIBING
PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF TEE PROVISIONS
HEREIN"; and

WHEREAS, said ordinance was on. the 26th day of
February published in the Huntington Beach News, a week-
ly newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City
of H .tin.gton. Beach; and
WHEREAS. on the loth day of Mar , �959, there was
filed with the City Clerk, a petition entitled, "REFERENDUM
PETITION"; protesting fhb adoption of said Ordinance No.
706;. and
V1HEREA S, the City Clerk of the City of Huntington
Beach has certified to said City Council that said petition
protesting the adoption of said Ordinance No. 706 was sign
ed by more than 1O% of the voters of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of, the City of Huntington.
Beach has reconsidered said ordinance ;
NOW TH]EyEFO , BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach:
Section 1. That a Special Municipal Election is
hereby called, to be held on Tuesday, the 9th day of Tune,
1959, for the purpose of submitting the follow ig propo
sition to the qualified electors of the City of Huntington
Beach-,

TAIN OF SUCH BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND IMPROVE-
MENT S S AND FOR THE USE THEREOF AND OF LAND: DE-
FINING THE TERMS USED HEREIN: SPECIFYING THE
PROCEDURE FOR THE AMENDMENT HEREOF: REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES OR PANTS OF ORDINANCES IN CON-
FLICT HEREWITH: AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS HEREIN,
WHICH ORDINANCE WAS PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL ON FEB UARY l6th S 1959, fS ADOPTED?
Section 2. That the City Council, is hereby ordered
to give notice of said Special Municipal Election as pro-
vided by law.

of Huntington Beach' California, at a regular meeting there-

foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirma-
tive vote of more than a majority of all the members of
said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the
