HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1387 I , RESOLUTION No, 1387 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION OF NASHVILLE STREET IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE OF A HEARING ON SAID VACATION. WHEREAS, Nashville Street deadends at the Pacific Elec- tric Railroad tract and that portion of Nashville Street between Alabama Avenue and the railroad tracts does not serve any useful purpose, nor has it any prospective use for street purposes; and WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to vacate said street to make that property available for city uses and purposes; NOW THEREFORE I the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does resolve, determine and declare as follows: Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Nashville Street, within the City of Huntington Beach, described as follows: That portion of the right of way of Nashville Street as follows: Commencing at the point of intersection of 1. Res. No. 1387 the west right of way of Alabama Avenue in the south line of Lot 1, Block 1401, T.J. Wat- son's Resubdivision; thence westerly 125' to the east line of the"Southern Pacific Railroad" right of way; thence southerly 30' to the pro- longation of the north line of Summit Tract, said tract being a resubdivision of Watson's addition to Huntington Beach, as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 3, Page 39, Orange County records; thence easterly on said north line 125' to the intersection with the west line of .Alabama Avenue; thence northerly 30' to the point of beginning. For further particulars, reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 2 day of September , 1959, at the hour of 8..._=00 o'clock P.M. , in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, is the time and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said resolution of inten- tion to vacate said above described portion of Nashville Street, at which hearing all persons interested in or object- ing to the proposed vacation may be heard. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and 2. Res. No. 1387 directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 4, The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby elect to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1541 in the vacating of a por- tion of Nashville Street as above described Section 5, The Street Superintendent is hereby author- ized and directed to post notices of street vacation as re- quired by law.
