A RESOLUTION OF TI-fE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH GIVING NOTICE
OF PROPOSED AivATI0N TO CITY OF HUNT-
INGTON BEACH OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED EEREIN AND DESIGNATED "WEST
ANNEXATION No. 211 , AND GIVING NOTICE
OF TIME AND PLACE FOR 1- ARINkrll OF PROTESTS
THERETO
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNT-
INGTON BEACH:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of. the Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by
owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the here-
inafter described territory, by area and by assessed value
as shorn on the last equalized assessment roll of the County
of Orange was filed with the Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach on October 23rd, 1959, requesting annexation of
the hereinafter described territory to said City.
2. That the territory iihich the petitioners request be
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and which said City
and its Council propose to annex, is situate in the County
of Orange , State of California, hereby designated "West
Annexation No. 211 , and described as follows:
"Commencing at a point in the city boundary of the
City of Huntington Beach, said point being also
. the point of intersection of the south line of
Gerhart (Heil) Avenue , said street right-of-way
now being 40 feet in width, and the west line of

being 60 feet in width; thence southerly on the
West line of Bolsa Chica Road a distance of
1321 feet , more or less to the point of inter-
section of said west line of Bolsa Chica Road
with the prolongation of the south line of
Block 1, Tract No. 86 as shown on a map there-
of recorded in Book 16, Pages 35 and 36, Mis-
cellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County,
California; thence easterly on said south line
a distance of 693 feet more or less to the east
line of said Block 1; thence northerly on said
east line and its northerly prolongation a dis-
tance of 1321 feet , more or less to a point in
the city boundary of the City of Huntington
Beach; thence westerly a distance of 693 feet
more or less to the point of beginning"
3. That the County Boundary Commission of Orange County,
California, did in session duly assembled on October 59 1959
consider the proposed annexation boundaries of said "West
Annexation No. 211 as above described, and as submitted to
said Commission by the proponents of said annexation.
That January I+th lgf))D, at the hour of
8S00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City
Hall in the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and
where any person owning real property within the uninhabited
territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the
City of Huntington Beach, and having any objections to the
pro-posed annexation, may appear before the Council of the
City of Huntington Beach and show cause why such uninhabited
territory should not be so annexed to the City of Huntington
Beach. The protdst must be in writing, may be filed at any

time before the hour set for hearing objections to the pro-
posed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the
owner or owners of property affected and the description and
area of such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach is
hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this reso-
lution to be published at least twice , but not oftener than
once a w-ek, in the "Huntington Beach News" a newspaper
of general circulation published in said City of Huntington
Beach, the city to which it is proposed to annex the afore-
said territory, and also in the "Westminster Herald" , a
newspaper of general circulation published outside the City
of Huntington Beach but in the County of Orange, California,
the county in which is located the territory proposed to be
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach, said publication to
be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set
for hearing.
6. The said City Clerk is further authorized and direct-
ed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to
be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory pro-
posed to be annexed was assessed in the last equalized county
assessment roll available on the date the above said pro-
ceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said
assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any person who

has filed his name and address and the designation of the

lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equit-
able , with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less
than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on
the proposed annexation.
7. In the event any land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is direct-
ed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to
be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county, such
notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
8. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice
to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled
thereto, in the manner required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 16th day of November 1959.

and acting City Clark of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote
of P-ore than a majority of all the members of said City
Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 16th day
of November 1959� by the following vote:
