A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE, CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH
TO VACATE A PORTION OF A CERTAIN STREET
COMPIONLY KNOWN AS THE STEARNS RANCHO EASE-
MENT AND GIVING NOTICE OF A FEARING ON
SAID VACATION.
IWTHEREAS 7 the tentative tract map for Tract No. 3670
has been presented to the City for its consideration; and
WHEREAS, in conformity with the design and plan of
said tract, the Stearns Rancho Easement, 20 feet in width,
running parallel to and easterly of the quarter section line
of Section 20, Township 5 South, Range 11 West from the
southerly line of Smeltzer Avenue southerly, a distance of
1,945.22 feet; and
WHEREAS, said subdivider of Tract 3670 proposes to dedi-
cate to the City, a street 60 feet in width, parallel to and
easterly 80 feet from said Stearns Rancho Easement; and
WHEREAS, said Stearns Rancho Easement will serve no
useful purpose nor has it any prospective use for streetpur-
poses; and
WHEMEAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to vacate
said easement;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach does resolve and declare , as follows:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a

portion of the Stearns Rancho Easement , within the City of
Huntington Beach, described as follows:
Commencing at an axle per C.S.T.B. 136-3, at the
center of Section 20, Township 5 South, Range 11
West thence N. 00 41t 19tt W. 695.07 feet to a 2"
iron pipe marked "L. S. 295511 set at the point
of beginning, thence N. 00 1+1' 19" W 191-5.22 feet
to a 2" iron pipe marked "L. S. 295511 , thence N
890 37' 58" E 20.00 feet to a point , thence S
00 41t l9" E 1945.23 feet to a point, thence S
890 38t 35" E 20.00 feet to the point of beginning.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to a map
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Section 2. That notice is hereby given that the
day ofMay 2nd, 1960, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M, ,
in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach,
California, is the time and place when and where a public
hearing shall be held upon said resolution of intention to
vacate said above described portion of the Stearns Rancho
Easement, at which hearing all persons interested in or ob—
jecting to the proposed vacation may heard.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and di—
rected to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to be
published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of gen—

eral circulation printed and published in the City of Hunt-
ington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing set
forth in Section 2 hereof.
Section 4. The City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby elect to proceed under the provisions of
the Street Vacation Act of 191+1 in the vacating of a portion
of Stearns Rancho Easement as above described.
Section 5, The Street Superintendent is hereby author-
ized and directed to post notices of street vacation as re-
quired by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the gist day of xkiiiL 196o.

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote
of more than a majority of all the members of said City
Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day
of Maig., , 1960, by the following vote:
