RESOLUTION No, 1421
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF HUNTINGTON BEACH GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOS-
ED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OF
THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED
HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS "NORTHEAST No. 211
AMEXATION, AND GIVING NOTICE OF TINE AND
PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH:
1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939,11 a petition signed by
owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the here-
inafter described territory by area and by assessed value
as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County
of Orange, was filed with the Council of tha City of Hunt-
ington Beach on `;May- Lb 1960, requesting annexation of
the hereinafter described territory to said City; that said
territory which said petitioners request be annexed to the
City of Huntington Beach and which said City and its Council
propose to annex to the City of Huntington Beach is situate
in the County of Orange , State of California, hereby desig-
nated "Northeast No. 2 Annexation", and described as follows:
t'Beginning at the point of intersection of the
Nest line of the Southeast Quarter (SET) of
the Southeast Quarter (SET) of the Southwest
Quarter (SWT) of Section 25, Township 5 South,
Range 11 West, San Bernardino Meridian, with a
line drawn parallel to and distant 30 feet

North, measured at right angles from the South
line of said Section 25, said point being in
the boundary line of the City of Huntington
Beach, as now established; thence South 690 feet,
more or less, along said boundary line to the
Southwest corner of the Northeast Quarter (NE-J)
of the Northeast Quarter (NET) of the Northwest
Quarter (NWT) of Section 36, Township 5 South,
Range 11 West, San Bernardino Meridian; thence,
leaving the boundary line of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, East 680 feet , more or less, alon
the South line of the Northeast Quarter (NEJ-5 of
the Northeast Quarter (NFr4) of the Northwest
Quarter (NW') of said Section 36 to an intersec-
tion with the East line of Newland Street, 40
feet wide as now laid out, said point also being
in the boundary line of the City of Fountain
Valley, as now established; thence North 690 feet ,
more or less, along said boundary line to an
intersection with the North line of Talbert
Avenue , 60 feet wide as now laid out; thence,
leaving the boundary line of the City of Fountain
Valley, West 680 feet , more or less, along the
North line of Talbert Avenue to the point of
beginning"
2. That the County Boundary Commission of Orange
County, California, did in session duly assembled on
Af�ril ;18, 1960, approve the proposed annexation boundaries
of said "Northeast No. 2 Annexation" , as above described,
and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of
said annexation of said territory to said City.
3. That July; 5 __, , 1960, at the hour of
or as soon thereafter as possible,

in the City Hall in the City of Huntington Beach, County
of Orange , California, is hereby fixed as the time and

place when and where any person owning property within the
uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and having any ob-
jection to the proposed annexation may appear before the
Council of the City of Huntington Beach and show cause why
such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said
City of Huntington Beach. Such protest must be in writing,
may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing
objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the
name or names of the owner or owners of property affected
and the description and area of such property in general
terms.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach
is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this
resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener
than once a week, in the"Huntington Beach News", a newspaper
of general circulation published in said City of Huntington
Beach, the city to which it is proposed to annex the afore-
said territory, and also in the "Westminster Herald'' , a
newspaper of general circulation published outside the City
of Huntington Beach, but in the County of Orange , California ,
the county in which is located the territory proposed to be
annexed to the City of Huntington Beach, said publication
to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date
{ set for hearing.

And the said City Clerk is further authorized and di-
rected to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to each person to whom land within the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized
county assessment roll available on the date the above pro-
ceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said
assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of the
lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable
with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty
on
(20) days before the first public hearing/the proposed annex-
ation.
And in the event any land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is owned by a county, the said City Clerk is
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County,
such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before
the first public hearing on the proposed annexation.

And the/City Clerk is directed to cause written notice
to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled
thereto, in the manner required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
