A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTOff
BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION OF CALIFORNIA
AVENUE IN SAID CITY, AND GIVING NOTICE
OF A .BEARING ON SAID VACATION
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a written re-
quest for the vacation of a portion of California Avenue,
within the City of Huntington Beach; and
WHEREAS, said portion of California Avenue is not now
being used as a public street and highway for the general
public; and
WHEREAS, the best interests of the citizens of Hunt-
ington Beach would be served by the vacation of a portion
of California Avenue;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, California, does resolve, determine, find and de-
clare, as follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion
of California Avenue, within the City of Huntington Beach,
described as follows:

That portion of California Avenue and Baltimore Street, as
shown on a map of Vista Del Mar Tract,Huntington Beach Section
Two, recorded in Book 41 at page 5 of Miscellaneous Maps,
Records of said Orange County, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot One , Block 203 of
said Vista Del Mar Tract, said point also being at the inter-
section of the Westerly right of way line of California Avenue
with the Northerly right of way line of Baltimore Street;thence
North 0043100" West along said Westerly right of way line
250.19 feet to a point, said point being distant 20.00 feet
measured at right angles, from the Southerly right of way line
of Chicago Street, 60.00 feet wide ss shown on said map of
Vista Del Mar Tract; thence North 69 17c+5" East, parallel with
said Southerly right of way line of Chicago Street, 60.00
feet to a point in the Easterly right of way line of said Calif-
ornia Avenue; thence South 80 43t 00" East along said Easterly
right of way line 250.21 feet to a point, said point being
on the Easterly prolongation of the Northerly right of way line
of said Baltimore Street; thence South 890 18t 50" West along
the Easterly prolongation of said Northerly right of way line
60.00 feet to the ponnt of beginning.
Section 2. That notice is hereby given that the 6th
day of March , 1961, at 6 he hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.

in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach,
California, is the time and place when and where a public
hearing shall be held upon said resolution of intention to
vacate said above described portion of California Avenue,
at which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to
the proposed vacation may be heard.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to
be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and published in the City of
Huntington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing as
set forth in Section 2 hereof.

Section 1+. The City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, in vacating portion of California Avenue, as above
described, does elect to proceed under the provisions of the
Street Vacation Act of 191+1, Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
Section 5. The Street Superintendent is hereby author-
ized and directed to post notices of street vacation as re-
quired by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 6th day of y, 1961.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and acting
City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio
Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify
that the whole number of members of the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing Resolu-
tion was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more
than a majority of all the members of said City Council at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of Fe:traary,
1961, by the following roll call vote:
