A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CF TBE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING
PARKING CONTROL AND PARKING FEES ON THE
HUNTINGT ON BEACH MUNICIPAL BEACH PARKING
LOT
WHEREAS, the former Huntington Beach Municipal Trailer
Park has now been abandoned and the space is now being pre-
pared for the parking of automobiles; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, in order to regulate the
parking thereon and the fees for said parking, do resolve
as follows:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVE):
1. That certain strip of the beach, approximately 80
feet wide running parallel with and adjoining on the south-
erly side, the Pacific Electric right-of-way, and extending
from the Huntington Beach State Park in a westerly direct-
ion, approximately 3600 feet, is hereby designated as the
Huntington Beach Municipal Beach Parking Lot.
2. Parking control shall be maintained on the Munici-
pal Beach Parking Lot between such hours and at such times
during the year as the City Council shall, by Minute Order
provide.
3. The City Council shall,by Minute Order, set fees
to be charged for the parking of automobiles, trucks and
busses in said parking lot and & i hedule of said fees shall

be posted in a conspicuous place in said parking lot.
1+. The City Council may waive the fees set for the
parking of vehicles in the Municipal Beach Parking Lot
when public demand, necessity or convenience requires said
waiver as may be occasioned when special events of a charit-
able or civic nature are being held, and it is in the inter-
est of the City and general public that parking fees be
waived for the use of the Municipal Beach Parking Lot in
connection with the special event.
5. Except as in this resolution provided, no vehicle
shall enter said Municipal Beach Parking Lot without the
payment of the fee therefor, nor shall vehicles enter said
parking lot when there is posted at the entrance thereof, a
sign in letters of not less than 2" in height, reading
"Closed" . This . section shall not apply to City vehicles
in the performance of official duty.
6. All vehicles entering said parking lot shall stop
at the entrance thereof.
7. All vehicles entering said Municipal Beach Parking
Lot before the office shall be opened, shall on demand of
the parking lot personnel, pay the fee for parking the
vehicle therein.
8. The speed limit for vehicles in the Municipal Beach
Parking Lot is 10 miles per hour on the roadway and 5 miles
per hour when entering the parking area or crossing the
pedestrian zone and signs setting forth this speed limit

shall be either posted in said park or painted on the road-.
way.
9. Vehicles shall be parked in one space only. No
parking across lines except for trucks and busses.
10. All vehicles in the parking lot shall obey all
orders and instructions painted in white upon the roadway
within the parking lot.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the o2 th day of March , 1961.

of more than a majority of all the members of said City
Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day
