HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1489 RESOLUTION NO. 1489 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING THE GENERAL PREVAILING HOURLY ITAGES FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF WORKMAN OR MCHANIC NEEDED FOR THE FURNISHING AND ERECTION OF CONCRETE STREET LIGHTING STANDARDS ON FOURTEENTH STREET BETWEEN WALNUT AVENUE AND PALM AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has conducted a hearing for the purpose of furnishing and erection of concrete street lighting standards on Fourteenth Street between Walnut Avenue and Palm Avenue, in the City of Huntington Beach, California. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby find, establish and determine that the general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen needed for the furnishing and erection of concrete street lighting standards on Fourteenth Street between Walnut Avenue and Palm Avenue, within the City of Huntington Beach and the general prevailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work, is as follows: Hourly Rate Classification Wage I LABORERS Laborer - General or Construction ----------------- 3.08 Flagman ------------------------------------------- 3.08 Health and Welfare 100 OPERATING ENGINEERS Oiler and Signalman ------------------------------- 3.33 A-Frame or Winch Truck Operator ------------------- 3.81 Health and Welfare 150 1 Resolution No. t Hourly Classification Wage bate TEAMSTERS Drivers of Trucks Legal Payload Capacity: Less than 6 Tons ----------------------------------- 3.365 6 Tons to 10 Tons ---------------------------------- 3.3Z 10 Tons to 15 Tons --------------------------------- 3.445 15 Tons to 20 Tons --------------------------------- 3.525 20 Tons or more ------------------------------------ 3.745 Health and Welfare 100 per hour OVERTDJE RATES LABORERS: - Time and one-half, except Sundays and Holidays, which are double time. FOREMEN: - All laborer foremen shall be paid not less than 30 cents per hour more than the hourly rate of the highest classification over which he has supervision. OPERATING ENGINEERS: - Time and one-half for all overtime, except Sundays and Holidays, which are double time. Where Operating Engineers, during any one calendar day, are working overtime on the same unit of a project on which another craft is working overtime at the double time rate, than the Operating Engineers on such unit of work shall also be paid at the double time rate. TEAY+iSTERS:- Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays, which are double time, except in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties where the overtime rate is time and one-half for all overtime. FOREMN: - All foremen not herein separately classified shall be paid not less than 25 cents per hour more than the hourly rate of the highest 2 Resolution No. 1489 classification over which he has supervision. APPRENTICES: - May be employed in conformity with Section 1777.5 of the California labor Code. The rates per hour indicated above are based upon the local prevailing rates per day being eight times the above scheduled rate per hour. Hourly rates of pay, based upon eight hours per day for a full day or a fractional part of a day. The per diem wages for a fractional part of a day shall be the applicable rate per hour multi- plied by the number of hours worked on said day other than for overtime and/or Sundays or Legal Holidays.
