HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1497 RESOLUTION No. 1497 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH RECO101ENDING A CHANGE OF THE PLAN OF HIGHWAY DEVELOPMENT BETWEEN STATE SIGN ROUTE 39 AND 1ST STREET IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has, by Resolution No. 1403, expressed its concern about and objections to a Freeway proposed between State Sign Route 39 and lst Street in the City of Huntington Beach; and WHEREAS, representatives of the City have met with the State Highway Engineer and representatives of District VII to discuss this matter; and WHEREAS, these discussions have resulted in further study of the problem at the City level; and WHEREAS, this study resulted in a plan acceptable to and serving the best interests of the City and other inter- ested parties; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that after due considera- tion and careful study, the City Council does hereby approve and request the State Division of Highways to review the plan as set forth in the accompanying map3 and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if said plan is acceptable to the Division of Highways, they recommend its adoptioi. to 1. Res. No. 1497 the proper authorities and further recommend the deletion of the freeway status of Route 60 Freeway between the limits of State Sign 39 and 1st Street in the City of Huntington Beach. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Freeway Agreement be amended to conform to the plan accompanying this resolution, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, at a special meeting thereof held at 6:30 P.M. on the 2nd day of June , 1961. ti LIZ Mayor ATTEST: City gWrk 2.
