A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ACKNOWy
LEDGING THE RECEIPT OF A COPY OF NOTICE
OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE PETITION
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNA-
TED AS "SUNSET HEIGHTS ANNEXATION" AND
AN AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION THEREOF AND
.APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF THE PETITION
WHEREAS, on October 11, 1961, there was filed with
the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach a copy of
Notice of Intention to Circulate Petition Relating to Annex-
ation of Certain Territory to the City of Huntington Beach
under the Annexation Act of 1913 pertaining to territory
designated as "Sunset Heights Annexation" accompanied by a
written statement containing reasons for the petition together
with an affidavit of publication of said notice on October 5,
1961, in the Huntington Beach News; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that
the legislative body may adopt a resolution acknowledging
receipt of the notice and approving the circulation of the
petition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach:
Section 1. That the receipt of the notice, statement
and affidavit aforesaid be and the same hereby is acknowledged,
and that approval be and hereby is given for the circulation
of the petition for annexation of that certain territory
designated as "Sunset Heights Annexation" twenty-one days

After the publication of said notice and statement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting held on
the 166 day of October, 1961.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 16b day of October,
1961, by the following vote:
AYES Councilmen: WELLS, LAMBERT, WAITE, GISLER
NOES: -Councilmen: NONE
ABSENT: Councilmen: STEWART
