RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA$
ORDERING, CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR
THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE
HZ D ON THE 10ib DAY OF AIPRIL, 1962.
WHEREAS, Section 36503 of the Government Code requires
that a General Municipal Election be held in general law Cit-
ies on the second Tuesday in April of each even-numbered
year;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, does hereby RESOLVE, DETEMINE
AND ORDER as f of l ows :
Section 1. That said General Municipal Election
be held and the same is hereby called to be held in the
City of Huntington Beach on April 10, 1962.
Section 2. That the polls for said election shall
be opened at 7:00 o'clock A.M. of the day of said election
and shall remain open continuously from said time until.,
7 :00 o'clock P.M. of the same day, when said polls shall
be closed, except as provided in Section 14436 of the
Elections Code of the State of California.
Section 3. That for the purpose of holding said
General Municipal Election there shall be and are hereby
established Fifteen (15) voting precincts designated as
hereinafter stated. Each such voting precinct shall con-
sist of either regular election precincts in the City of

Huntington Beach (of the names and numbers hereinafter stat-
ed) established for the holding of State and County elections,
as said regular election precincts exist on the date of adopt-
ion of this resolution or a consolidation of some or all of
such precincts. That the polling places for the respective
precincts shall be the places hereinafter designated, and
that the persons hereinafter named, being competent and qual-
ified electors and residents of said city and of their re-
spective voting precincts, are hereby appointed officers of
election for their respective voting precincts and they shall
hold said election and make return thereof in the manner pro-
vided by law.
Voting Precinct 1, comprising State and County Precinct
Numbers One and Nine.
Polling Place: Hazel Renfro Residence, located at 508
California Street in said City.

Section 4. That except as otherwise provided in
this resolution, the election called hereby shall be held
and conducted as provided by Chapter 2, Part 2, Division XII
of the Elections Code, and in all respects not otherwise
provided for in said Chapter, said election shall be held
and conducted in accordance with the provisions of the
Elections Code governing elections generally, so far as they
may be applicable.
Section 5. That the compensation which shall be
paid to each election officer and the rental to be paid to
each owner as rental for each polling place is as follows :
Inspectors 21.00
Judges $ 18;00
Clerks $ 18.00
Polling Places $ 15.00
Section 6. That the City Council of said city
shall meet at its usual place of meeting on April 16, 1962,
at 7:30 o'clock P.M. of said day and proceed to canvass the
election returns and declare the result of said election.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall give the
notices required by law for the holding of said General
Municipal Election.

Section 8. This resolution shall take effect
upon its adoption.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED the 5b day of March,
1962, by the City Council og the City of Huntington Beach,

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the i'ity of Huntington Beach is five; that the fore-
going resulution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said
City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the
5t day of March, 1962, by the following roll call vote;
