BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNT- INGTON BEACH. 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," a petition signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the herein- after described territory by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, was filed with the Council of the City of Huntington Beach on Ma-reh- .l9th, 1962, requesting annexation of the here- inafter described territory to said City; that said territory which said petitioners request be annexed to the City of Hunt- ington Beach and which said City and its Council propose to annex to the City of Huntington Beach is situate in the County of Orange, State of California, hereby designated "Jay Annex- ation" , and described as follows: That portion of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 21, Township 5 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, Orange County, California, being more articular) described •p yas follows. 1, Resol• No. 1569 Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest one-quarter of above mentioned Section 21; thence north 890 35. 3011 East,along the North line of said Southwest one-quarter of Section 21, 662.75 feet to a point; thence South 00 41t35►t Bast 20.00 feet to a point in the South right of way line of Heil (Gerhart)Avenue, 40 feet in width as now laid out , said point also being an angle point in the existing bounda- ry line of the City of Huntington Beach, having been established by North Annexation in Ordinance No. 667 of said City and having been established by West Annexation No. 2 in Ordinance No. 748 of said city; thence North 890 35t 30" Bast, along the South right of gray line of Heil avenue follow- ing the 'existing boundary of City of Huntington Beach, 331.37 feet to the True Point of Beginning, said point also being the Northwest corner of Lot 2, Block 2, of Tract 86 Coast Boulevard Farms as shown on a map filed in Book 10, pages 35-36 of Miscellaneous daps, Records of Orange County? California; thence continuing North 89 351 30►' East, along the South right of way line of Heil Avenue , along the Forth line of above mentioned Lot 2, and along the existing boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach, 331.37 feet to a point, said point being the Northeast corner of said Lot 2; thence , leaving said existing boundary line of Huntington Beach, South 00 43t 15" East, along the East line of said Lot 2, 640 54 feet to a point, said point being the Southeast corner of said Lot 2; thence South 890 36t Nest, along the South line of said Lot 2; 331.53 feet to a point, said paint being the Southwest corner of said Lot 2; thence North 00 42' 25" West, along the West line of said Lot 2, 640.1+8 feet to the True Point of Beginning. 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Orange County, California, did in session duly assembled on March 12th7 1962, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said "Jay Annexation" , as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of said annexation of said territory to said City 2. Res. No* 1569 3. That May 7th , 1962, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall in the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, Califor- nia is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Huntington Beach and show cause why such uninhabited terri- tory should not be so annexed to said City of Huntington Beach. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. 4. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this reso- lution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the "Huntington Beach News" , a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Huntington Beach, the city to which it is proposed to annex the afore- said territory, and also in the "Westminster Herald" , a news- paper of general circulation published outside the City of Huntington Beach, but in the County of Orange , California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be Res- . No. annexed to the City of Huntington Beach, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. 5. And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the terri- tory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above pro- ceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has any interest; either legal or equit- able with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the pro- posed annexation. 6. In the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such County,such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public 'nearing on the proposed annexation. 7. The said City Clerk is directed to cause written no- tice to be given to such other persons as may be legally en- titled thereto in the manner required by law. �s Res.
