A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF-
ORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON
TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 1962,IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, did, by resolution duly and regularly
adopted at a regular meeting of said Council call for and
provide for the holding of the general municipal election
within said City of Huntington Beach on the 10th day of April,
1962; and
WHEREAS, due notice of the holding of said general elec-
tion has heretofore been given at the time and in the manner
provided by law;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, California, do hereby resolve, determine and de-
clare as follows:
Section 1.
(a) That the said general election was duly had in
the City of Huntington Beach, California, April 10th, 1962,
between the hours of 7 :00 A.M. and 7 :00 P.M. thereof.
(b) That the whole number of votes cast in the City
of Huntington Beach at said general election, including all
absentee votes , is 3,831.

(c) That the names of the persons voted for, the
offices for which they were voted; the -number of votes given
in each precinct to each of said persons, the absentee votes
given to each of said persons , together with the whole number
of votes which said persons received in the entire city, are
as follows:

Section 2: It is hereby found and declared that the following named
persons were elected to the respective offices indicated opposite their
names, to-wits.
Robert M. Lambert Councilman
Thomas H. Welch Councilmam
James D. Plunkett City Attorney
Howard F. Robidoux Chief of Police
Section 3: (a) That the measure voted upon at said general election
was designated as follows:
Shall the ordinance fixing the monthly compensation at the rate of
$125-00 per month for each member of the City Council serving in that
capacity after the canvass of the ballots of the General Municipal Election,
in April, 1962, be adopted?
(b) That the number of votes given in each precinct for
and against said measure, together with the whole number of votes given for
and against said measure, is as follows:

Section 4: It is hereby found and declared that the measure was
adopted.
Section 5: The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter on the
records of the City Council a statement of the result of said election as
required by law.
Section 6: The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to
each of such persons elected a certification of election signed by him and duly
authenticated. He shall also impose the constitutional oath of office and
have each of said persons subscribe thereto, whereupon they shall be inducted
into the respective offices to which they have been elected.
Section 7: That the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the
passage and adoption of this Resolution by a majority of the votes of the
members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, by a vote of more than a majority of all its members, at
a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 16th day of April, 1962.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and acting City Clerk
of the City of Huntington Beach and ex-officio Clerk of the City Council
of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number of members of the
City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the fore-
going Resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of more
than a majority of all members of said City Council at a regular meeting
of said City Council held on the 16th day of April, 1962, by the
following vote:
