xr DTI REAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach has
conducted a hearing for the purpose of establishing the general
prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for mrlmen, needed
for the resurfacing of Yorktown Avenue, from Beach Boulevarr to 685
feet east of Beach Boulevard; Garfield Avenue, from Beach Boulevard
to 1980 feet east of Beach. Boulevard; Twelfth Street, from Ocean
Avenue to Orange Avenue; and Alabama. Street, from Indianapolis
Avenue to Nash-Alle Average, and "as considered evidence presented.
NO'ff THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOMTED: That the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach does hereby find, establish and determine that the
general prevailing rate of hourly wages in this locality for workmen
needed for the resurfacing of Yorktown Avenue, from Beach Boulevard to
685 feet east of Beach Boulevard; Garfield Avenue, from Beach Boulevard
to 1980 feet east of Beach Boulevard; Twelfth Street, from Ocean Avenue
to Orange Avenue; and Alabama Street, from Indianapolis Avenue to Ilash-
ville Avenue, within the City of Huntington Beach and the general pre-
vailing rate of legal holiday and overtime work, is as follows:

OTTERTIM, RATES
ENGINEERS - Time and one-half for all overtime, except Sundays and
holidays, which are double time.
IABORERS - Time and one-half, except Sundays and holidays, which are
double time.
TEPYSTERS - Time and one-half, except Sundays and holidays, which are
double time.

"The rate of compensation for any classification not listed in
the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed con-
tract, shall be commensurate and in accord with the rates specified for
similar or comparable duties in the Southern California Master Labor
Agreements."
The rates per hour, indicated above are based upon the local

prevailing rates per day being eight times the above scheduled rate
per hour. Hourly rates of pay are based upon eight hours per day
for a full day or a fractional part of a day. The per diem wages of
a fractional part of a day shall be the applicable rate per hour
multiplied by the number of hours worked on said day other than for
overtime and/or Sundays or Legal Holidays.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the Cite of Huntington
Beach, California at a regular meeting thereof held on the
7 th day of May 1962.

I , PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the
foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the
affirmative vote of more than a majority of all the members
of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on
the 70 day of May, 1962, by the following vote:
