HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1598 RESOLUTION Now 1598 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON-- BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION OF GRAHAM STREET IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING ON SAID VACATION. WHEREAS., the Douglas Aircraft Corporation has purchased some 250 acres in the northwest portion of the City of Hunt- ington Beach and proposes to build thereon an industrial and research plant; and WHEREAS:, the present location of a portion of Graham Street would interfere with the proper development of such project and a continued existence of a portion of Graham Street as hereafter described would be impractical; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to vacate that portion of Graham Street as hereinafter described: NOW,, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting- ton Beach, California, does resolve, determine, find and de Clare as follows : Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Graham Street, within the City of Huntington Beach, de- scribed as follows : 1. Res. No 1598 That. portion of Graham Street as described in a deed recorded May 7, 1928 in Book 158, Page 272 of Official Records, Records of ©range County, California: said portion being more particularly described as follows A strip of land, 64 feet in width, lying 30 feet on either side of the North-South one-quarter (N-Sj) section line of Section 9, Township 5 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, being bounded on the South by the Northerly right of way line of Bolsa Avenue, 80 feet in width as now laid out, and being bound- ed on the North by the Southwesterly right of way line of the United States of America Railroad, 75 feet in width as described in a deed recorded Dec ember 19, 1944, in Book 1296, Page 88 of Official Records of Orange County, California, For further particulars as to the proposed vacation, reference Is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. 2 Res. No. 1598 Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 2nd day of July, 1962, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach„ California, is the time and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said resolution of intention to vacate said above described portion of Graham Street, at which hearingall persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may b e heard.- Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution of inten- tion to be published in the Huntington Beach News, a news- paper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing as set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 4: The City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach, in vacating the portion of Graham:",Street, as above described, does elect to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941, Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, Section 5: The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized and directed to post notices of street vacation as required by law.
