A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH GIVING NOTICE
OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHAB_
ITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIG_
NATED AS "SCHONLE ANNEXATION"
AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR
HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNT-
INGTON BEACH:
1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation
of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939," a petition was signed
by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the here-
inafter described territory by area and by assessed value as
shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of
Orange, was filed with the Council of the City of Huntington
Beach on. Juzly '2id, 1962, requesting annexation of the here-
inafter described territory to said City; that said territory
which said petitioners request be annexed to the City of Hunt-
ington Beach and which said City and its Council propose to
annex to the City of Huntington Beach is situate in the County
of Orange, State of California, hereby designated
"SCHONLE ANNEXATION"
and described as follows:

All that certain land situated in the State of
California, County of Orange, described as follows :
That portion of the Southeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter of Section 21,
Township 5 South, Range 11 West, in the Rancho
La Bolsa Chica, as shown on a map recorded in
book 51, page 13 of Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California described as follows :
Commencing at the South quarter corner of
said Section 21 thence South 890 37' 30" West
20.00 feet along the Southerly line of the South-
west quarter of said Section 21 to the existing
boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach,
having been established by !Ordinance No. 667,
said point being the true point of beginning;
thence North 00 46 ' 30" West 660.74 feet along
said existing boundary line to the Northerly
line of the South half of the Sohtheast quarter
of the Southwest quarter of said Section 21 ;
thence leaving said existing boundary South 890
37' 00" Ifest 975.52 feet to the Northwest
corner of the East half of the West half of the
South half of the Southeast quarter of the Sout4-
west quarter of said Section 21 thence South 0
44' 00" mast 660.59 feet to the Southwest corner
of the East half of the West half of the South
half of the Southeast quarter of the Southwest
quarter of said Section 21 ; thence North 89
37' 30" East 976.00 feet to the true point of
beginning

Section 2, That the County Boundary Commission of
Orange County, California, did In session duly assembled on
July . 2jid , 1962, approve the proposed annexation of boundaries
of said "SCHONLE ANNEXATION" as
above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the
proponents of said annexation of said territory to said City,
Section 3. That August 29,1962, at the hour 8:00
o' clock P.M. of said day, in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall in the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange,
California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and
where any person owning property within the uninhabited terr-
itory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City
of Huntington Beach and having any objection to the proposed
annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach and show cause why such uninhabited territory
should not be so annexed to said City of Huntington Beach.
Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time
before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed
annexation, and shall state the name or names of the owner
or owners of property affected and the description and area
of such property in general terms,
Section 40 The City Clerk of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of
this resolution to be published at least twice, but not

oftener than once a week, in the "Huntington Beach News" ,
a newspaper of general circulation published in said City
of Huntington Beach, the city to which it is proposed to
li annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the "Westminster
Herald" a newspaper of general circulation published outside
the City of Huntington Beach, but in the County of Orange,
California, the county in which is located the territory pro-
posed to be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach., said
publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior
to the date set for hearing.
Section And the said City Clerk is further author-
ized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within
the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last
equalized county assessment roll available on the date the
above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on
said assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any
person who has filed his name and address and the designation
of the lands in which he has any Interest; either legal or
equitable with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less
than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the
proposed annexation.
Section 6. In the event any land within the territory
proposed to be annexed is owned by a county,, the said City

Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such
County, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20)
days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexa-
tion,
Section 7. The said City Clerk is directed to cause
written notice to be given to such other persons as may be
legally entitled thereto in the manner required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, at a regular meeting thereof held on the

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote
of more than a majority of all the members of said City
Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the nd, day
of July t 1962, by the following vote:
