HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1605 RESOLUTION No. 1605 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTING2ON BEACH GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OF THAT CERTAIN UNIN- HABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS "HUNTINGTON HARBOUR C©R_ PORATION ANNEXATION - PARCEL 3-A" ,AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO, H BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNT- INGTON BEACH: 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, " a petition was signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in the hereinafter described territory by area and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, was filed with the Council of the City of Hunting- ton Beach on September 4, 1962 , requesting annexation of the hereinafter described territory to said City; that said terr- itory which said petitioners request be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and which said City and its Council pro- pose to annex to the City of Huntington Beach is situate in the County of Orange, State of California, hereby designated "Huntington Harbour Corporation Annexation - Parcel 3-A" ,and described as follows: Beginning at an angle point in the city boundary line of the City of Huntington Beach, County of Orange, State of California, said boundary having been established by "Sunset Harbour Annexation" in Ordinance No,800 of said city, said angle i 1. ,Res, No. 1605 point being at the point of intersection of the East line of that certain 1.354 acre parcel shown on a map recorded in Book 7, Page 20, Record of Surveys, records of said Orange County, with the North line of earner Avenue (formerly Los Patos Avenue) 60 feet in width as now laid out; thence along said city boundary line and along said North line, North 890 51t 53" East, 2961.38 feet, more or less to an angle point in said city boundary line; thence continuing along said city boundary line North 0° 08' 07" West, 15.00 feet to a point in a curve, concave Northwesterly having a radius of 555.00 feet, a radial line at said point having a bearing of South 00 08' 07" East; thence Northerly and Easterly along said curve and continuing along said city boundary line through a central angle of 900 35 ' 15" , a distance of 877.48 feet, more or less; thence continuing along said city boundary line North 890 16' 33" East, 15.00 feet, more or less, to an angle point in said city boundary line, said angle point being in the west line of Warner Avenue (formerly Algonquin Street) 50 feet in width and said angle point being 30.00 feet westerly, measured at right angles from the center line of said last mentioned Warner Avenue; thence continuing along said city boundary line parallel with the center line of said `warner Avenue North T 00 i 43♦ 22" West, 748.28 feet to an angle point in said. city boundary line in the westerly rolonga- tion of the North line of Warner Avenue kformerly Wintersburg Avenue) 60 feet in width as now laid out; thence North 890 39' 54" East along said city boundary line 50.03 feet to an angle point in said city boundary line; said angle point being the intersection of the Easterly line of Algonquin St. Forty (40) feet wide with said Northerly line of Warner Avenue; thence leaving said city boundary line andalong said North line of Jarner Avenue North 890 39' 54" East , a distance of 335.03 feet, more or less, to an intersection with the North- erly extension of the East line of Sandra Lee Street as shown on a map of Tract 349, as recorded in B ook 15, Page 17, records of said Orange County; thence 6outh 00 43' 26" East, 1385.50 f t. along the East line of Sandra Lee Street and its prolongation to a point in the so_=therly line of the easterly prolongation of said Warner Avenue (formerly Los Patos Avenue) ; thence South 890 51' 53" West, 3922.63 feet, more or less, along said . south line of Warner Avenue and its prolonggations to a point that is South 00 08' 07" East, 60.00 feet from the point of beginning; thence North 00 08' 07" 'nest 60.00 feet to the point of beginning. het. No. 1605 Section 2. That the County Boundary Commission of Orange County, California, did in session duly assembled on August 20th, 1962, approve the proposed annexation bounda- ries of said "Huntington Harbour Corporation Annexation - Parcel 3-A" , as above described, and as submitted to said Commission by the proponents of said annexation of said territory to said City. Section 3. That October 15th, 1962, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day, in the Council Chamb rs, in the City Hall in the City of Huntington Beach, California, County of Orange, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach and having any ob- jection to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Huntington Beach and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Huntington Beach. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the pro-posed annexation, and shall state the name or names of the ovTner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not Res. No. 1605 oftener than once a week, in the "Huntington Beach News", a newspaper of general circulation published in said City of Huntington Beach, the city to which it is proposed to annex the aforesaid territory, and also in the "Westminster Herald" a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Huntington Beach, but in the County of Orange, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. Section 5. And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assess- ed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has any interest; either legal or equitable with said Clerk, said notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation. 4.
