HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1626 RESOLUTION No, 1626 AN ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL VACATING A PORTION OF GRAHAM STREET IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, did by unanimous vote on the 4th day of June, 1962, at a regular meeting of said body, regularly and and duly adopt Resolution No. 1598, entitled "A Resolution of Intention of the City of Huntington Beach to Vacate a Por- tion of Graham Street in said City and Giving Notice of Hear- ing on said Vacation" and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did elect to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941; and WHEREAS, the portion of the street to be vacated lies within the City of Huntington Beach and is not a portion of a state highway; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach did cause a copy of. said resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, by one insertion on the 7th day of June, 1962; and WHEREAS said resolution contained a notice that the 1 Res No. 1626 2ild, day of July, 1962, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, was the time and place when and where a public hearing was to be held upon said resolution of Intention, at which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed va- cation may be heard; and WHEREAS, notice of street vacation was posted as re- quired by law; and WHEREAS, there were no protests or persons appearing against said proposed street vacation at said hearing; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach finds and determines from all the evidence submitted that the portion of Graham Street described in said Rtsolu- tion No. 1598 is unnecessary for present or prospective pub- lie street purposes: NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach hereby resolves as follows: A strip of land, 60 feet in width, lying 30 feet on either side of the North-South-one- quarter (N_SJ) section line of Section 9, Township 5 South, Range 11 West, San Bernard- ino Base and Meridian, being bounded on the South by the Northerly right of way line of Bolsa Avenue, 80 feet in width as now laid 2. ke6.. No. 1626 out, and being bounded on the North by the Southwesterly right of way line of the United States of America Railroad, 75 feet in width as described in a deed recorded December 19, 1944, in Book 1296, Page 88 of Official Records of Orange County, California be, and the same is hereby vacated for public street purposes. Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a certified copy of this Order, attest- ed by the City Clerk under the seal of this city, together with a certified copy of Resolution No. 1598 to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Orange County, Calif- ornia, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, this 23rd day of July 1962* Mayor ATTEST: Paul C.
