A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON
BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION OF GRAHAM
STREET IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE
OF HEARING ON SAID VACATION.
WHEREAS, the alignment of the extension of Graham Street
from south of Edinger Avenue (formerly Smeltzer Avenue)
northerly across a bridge being constructed by the Orange
County Flood Control District Westminster Channel would con-
flict with the present location of Graham Street; and
WHEREAS, the right of wag for Graham Street in the new
location will be dedicated; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to vacate that portion
of Graham Street as hereinafter described:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, California.. does resolve, determine, find and
declare as follows:
Section 1, The City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach does hereby declare its intention to 'vacate a portion
of Graham Street, within the City of Huntington Beach#
described as follows:
That portion of Graham Street as described in a deed
recorded May 7, 1928 in Book 158, Page 272 of Official
Records, Records of Orange County, California; said portion

being more particularly described as follows:
A strip of land, 60 feet in width, lying 30 feet on
either side of the North-South one-quarter (N-S -) section
line of Section 16 Township South Range 11 West San

Bernardino Base and Meridian, being bounded on the South by
the south line of Section 16, being the centerline of
Edinger Avenue (formerly Smeltzer Avenue) , and being bounded
on the North by the north line of Section 16, being the
centerline of Bolsa Avenue.
For further particulars as to the proposed vacation,
reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City.
Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 21st
day of January, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in
the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach,
California, is the time and place when and where a` public
hearing shall be held upon said resolution of intention to
vacate said above described portion of Graham Street, at
which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the
proposed vacation may be heard.
Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to
be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed and published in the City of
Huntington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing as
set forth in Section 2 hereof.

Section 4: The City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, in vacating the portion of Graham Street, as above
described, does elect to proceed under the provisions of the
Street Vacation ,act of 1941, Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highway Code of the State of California.
Section 5: The Street Superintendent is hereby auth-
orized and directed to post notices of street vacation as
required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof
held on the 17th day of December, 1962,

resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of

at a regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of
