A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING
PURCHASES OF CERTAIN ITEMS TO BE FADE
FOR THE CITY BY THE PURCHASING AGENT OF
THE COUNTY OF ORANGE.
WHEREAS, it is permissible under Sections 51301,
et seq. , of the Government Code of the State of California
to contract with the County to perform certain functions for
the City; and
WHEREAS, it appears that it is possible to acquire
certain items consistent with the City's centralized purchas-
ing system at a substantially lower cost by having them pur-
chased through the County; and
WHEREAS, it is, therefore, the desire of the City
Council to contract with the County for the County Purchasing
Agent to purchase certain items for the City under the fol-
lowing conditions:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Hunt-
ington Beach hereby agrees with the County of Orange that the
Purchasing Agent for the County shall purchase for the City
at the request of the Purchasing Agent of the City of Hunting-
ton Beach, gasoline, oil and such other items regularly pur-
chased by the County as may be designated from time to time by
the City Purchasing Agent.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City hereby agrees

to pay the expenses and costs incurred by the County in per-
forming the services for the City within 15 days after be-
ing billed for the same, provided such expenses- and costs
Incurred in any month are billed to the City prior to the
end of the following month.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, upon the approval of
the terms of this resolution by the Board of Supervisors, it
shall constitute a contract between the City and the County,
which said contract shall have a term of five (5) years from
the date of approval and shall be subject to termination by
either party upon giving written notice to the other party
one year prior to the date of termination.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach, California, this 18th day of
February 1963.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 18tb day of
February , 1963, by the following vote•
