RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
STATING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF
ELECTION RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL BOND
ELECTION HELD APRIL 30, 1963.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, by Resolution No. 1730, duly called and
provided for the holding of a special election in said city
on April 30th, 1963, for the purpose of submitting to the
qualified voters of said city the proposition set forth in
said ordinance and hereinafter stated; and
WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly and regular-
ly given in time, form and manner as provided by law, and
said election was on said date duly held at the polling
places designated in said ordinance, and the votes cast there-
at were canvassed and the returns thereof made at the time and
in the manner and forty provided by law; and
WHEREAS, on this 6th day of May, 1963: at the hour of
7 :30 o'clock P. M. , said City Council has duly assembled at
its usual place of meeting and has canvassed the returns of
said. election;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt-
ington Beach, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER as follows:

Section 1, That the special election for the pur-
pose of submitting to the voters of the City of Huntington
Beach the bond proposition hereinafter set forth was duly
held on April 30th., 1963, and the votes cast at said elect-
Ion were duly and regularly canvassed and the returns there-
of made at the time and In the form and manner required by
law.
Section 2. That the bond proposition voted upon at
said election is as follows, to-wit:
"CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REVENUE BOND PROPOSITION:
Shall the City of Huntington Beach issue water
revenue bonds in the principle sum of $5,7009000
for the acquisition, construction and financing
of additions to the water works system of the
City of Huntington Beach including works and fae-
Ilities for the production, storage, transmission
and distribution of water, including capacity
rights in works and facilities to be used jointly
with other public corporations Including capacity
rights in the San Joaquin Reservoir to be construct-
ed by the Irvine Ranch Water District, West Orange
County Feeder #2 and the Irvine Reservoir trans-
mission line and additional capacity rights in the
East Orange County Feeder #2 water storage reser-
voirs and tanks, water transmission and distribu-
tion mains, treatment plants and water wells,, and
including the acquisition of all water rights,
lands, easements, buildings, pipes, pumps, valves,
fittings, meters, machinery, equipment, materials,
apparatus and other property necessary or--conven-
ient therefor and incidental expenses Included in
connection therewith?"
Section 3. That the absent voter ballots have been
duly canvassed and counted as required by law, and the re-
sult of such count is hereinafter stated. That this City

Council has duly canvassed the returns of said election and
from said returns it appears, and this City Council finds,
that the total number of votes cast in each of the respective
election precincts established for said election upon said
proposition, and the number of votes therein for and against
said proposition, the total number of absentee votes cast in
each of the respective election precincts established for said
election upon said proposition, and the number of votes there-
in for and against said proposition, the total number of absent-
ee votes cast at said election upon said proposition and for
and against said proposition, and the total number of votes
cast in said city upon said proposition and for and against
said proposition, are as follows:

Section 4. That the votes of a majority of all
of the voters voting at said election, were cast in favor
of the adoption of said proposition, and said proposition
is hereby declared to be carried, and this City Council
is authorized to issue bonds of said city pursuant there-
to as provided by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Huntington Beach this 6th day of May , 1963.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th , day of MAY
