HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1774 RESOLUTION NO. 1774 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION OF INDIAN•- APOLIS AVENUE IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING ON SAID VACATION. WHEREAS, the extension of Indianapolis Avenue easterly of Brookhurst Street across the Santa Ana River would inter- sect the Fairview State Hospital; and WHEREAS, Indianapolis Avenue easterly of Brookhurst Street is not on the Master Plan of Arterial Highways; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to vacate that portion of Indianapolis Avenue as hereinafter described: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunting- ton Beach, California, does resolve, determine, find and declare as follows; Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Indianapolis Avenue, within the City of Huntington Beach,, described as follows: That portion of Indianapolis.±Avenue as described in a deed recorded September 220 1899 in Book 30, Page 185 of Official Records, Records of Orange County, California; said Reso, 1774 portion being more particularly described as follows: A strip of land, 40 feet in width, lying 20 feet on either side of the East-West one-quarter (E-W .1) section line of Section 8, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, being bounded on the West by the west line of Section 8, being the centerline of Brookhurst Street, and being bounded on the East by the west line of the Santa Ana River. For further particulars as to the proposed vacation, reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 17.th day of June, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M* irk -the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, California, is the time and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said resolution of intention to vacate said above described portion of Indianapolis Avenue, at which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may be heard. Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, by one insertion prior to the hearing as set forth in Section 2 hereof. 2. Reso. No. 1774 Section 4: The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, in vacating the portion of Indianapolis Avenue, as above described, does elect to proceed under the provision of the Street Vacation Act of 1941, Division 9, Part 31 of the Streets and Highway Code of the State of California. Section 5: The Street Superintendent is hereby auth- orized and directed to post notices of street vacation as required by law, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of May, 1963.
