HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1785 RESOLUTION No. 1785 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION FOR GRANT TO AC- QUIRE OPEN-SPACE LAND. WHEREAS, Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961 provides for the making of grants by the Housing and Home Finance Administra- tor to States and local public bodies to assist them in the ac- quisition of permanent interests in land for open-space purposes where such acquisition is deemed essential to the proper long- range development and welfare of urban areas in accordance with plans for the allocation of land to such purposes; and WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to acquire fee simple estate to certain land known as Park Sites 4, 13, and 22, which land, in accordance with the Interim Guide To The Select- ion of Park and Playground Sites approved by the City Council, is to be held and used for permanent open-space land as park and recreational uses; and WHEREAS, it Is estimated that the total consideration to be paid for the acquisition of said interests Will be $112,150. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AS FOLLOWS: 1. That an application be made to the Housing and Home Finance Agency for a grant In an amount authorized by Title VII of the Housing Act of 1961, which amount is presently estimated to be $22,430, and that the City of Huntington Beach will pay the balance of the consideration for the acquisition of such in- 1 . Res. No. 1785 interests and the total of all related costs from other funds available to it. 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such application with the Housing and Home Finance Agency, to provide additional information and to fur- nish such documents as may be required by said Agency, to ex- ecute such contracts as are required by said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the City of Huntington Beach. 3* That the proposed acquisition Is In accordance with the Interim Guide To The Selection of Park and Playground Sites approved by the City Council for the preservation of permanent open-space land, and that, should said grant be made, the City of Huntington BeWh *111 retain said land for the uses designat- ed in said application and approved by the Housing and Home Finance Agency. The attached resolution is a true and correct copy of the resolution as finally adopted at a meeting of the Ap- plicant held on the 21t+ day of May , 19 63, and duly recorded in his office. 3. Said meeting was duly convened and held in all re- spects in accordance with law and, to the extent required by law, due and proper notice of such meeting was given. A legal quorum was present throughout the meeting, and a legally sufficient number of members of the Applicant voted in the prop- er manner for the adoption of said resolution, All other re- quirements and proceedings under law incident to the proper adoption or passage of said resolution have been duly fulfilled, carried out, and otherwise observed. 4. If an impression of the seal has been affixed below, it constitutes the official seal of the Applicant, and this certificate is hereby executed under such official seal. If no seal has been affixed below, the Applicant does not have and is not legally required to have an official seal. 5. The undersigned is duly authorized to execute this certificate.
