HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1846 RESOLUTION N0, 1846 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH TO VACATE A PORTION OF YORKTOWN AVENUE IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING ON SAID VACATION. WHEREAS, the extension of Yorktown Avenue easterly of bard Street across the Santa Ana River would intersect the Mesa Verde Golf Course; and WHEREAS, Yorktown Avenue easterly of Ward Street is not on the Master Plan of Arterial Highways; and WHEREAS$ the City Council desires to vacate that portion of Yorktown Avenue as hereinafter described:. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does resolve, determine, find and declare as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Yorktown Avenue, within the City of Huntington Beach, described as follows: That portion of Yorktown Avenue as described in the Stearns Rancho Reservations recorded in 1918 in Book 324, page 193, Records of Orange County, California; said portion being more particularly de sc ribed a s f ollows: A strip of land, 40 feet in width, lying 20 feet on either side of the .Fast - West one quarter (EVP4) section line of Section 5, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, Res. No. 1846 being bounded on the West by the North-South one quarter (N-Sl) section 4 line of above mentioned Section 5., and being bounded on the East by the west line of the Santa Ana River, For further particulars as to the proposed vacation., reference is hereby made to a rap on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 7th day of October., 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach,, California., is the time and place when and where a public hearing shall be hold upon said resolution of intention to vacate said above described portion of Yorktown Avenue., at which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the pro- posed vacation may be heard, Section 3.- The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News., a newspaper of general circulation., printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach,, by one insertion prior to the hearing as set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 4: The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, in vacating the portion of Yorktown Avenue, as above described., does SO under the provision of the Streets and Highways CodepSection 8320 etc., of the State of California. Res. No. 1846 Section 5: The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized and directed to post notices of street vacation as required by lair.
