HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1884 RESOLUTION No.1884 A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BENCH TO VACATE A PORTION OF WARD STREET IN SAID CITY AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING ON SAID VACATION. E S,, the extension of Ward Street southerly of Yorktown Avenue would intersect the Santa Ana River at a point of no foreseeable crossing; and WHEREAS,, Ward Street southerly of Yorktown Avenue is not on the Master Flan of ,arterial Highways; and NHa '_ S, the City Council desires to vacate that portion of Ward Street as hereinafter described: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, does resolve, determine, find and declare as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach does hereby declare its intention to vacate a portion of Ward Street., within the City of Huntington Beach, described as follows: That portion of Ward Street as described in the Stearns Rancho Reservations recorded in 1898 in Book 30, page 112 of Deeds, and in 1902 in Book 30, page 361 of Deeds, Records of Orange County, California; said portion being more particularly described as follows: A strip of land, 40 feet in width, lying 20 feet on either side of the North-South one quarter (NS4) section line of Section 5, Township 6 South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, being bounded on 1, Resolution No. 1884 the North by the East-ZFVest one quarter (EY143) section line of above described Section 5 and being bounded on the East by the West line of the Santa Ana River. For further particulars as to the proposed vacation, reference is hereby made to a map cm file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. Section 2: That notice is hereby given that the 6th day of January, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach-, California, is the time and place when and where a public hearing shall be held upon said resolution of intention to vacate said above described portion of Ward Street., at which hearing all persons interested in or objectingr to the proposed vacation may be heard* Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach., by one insertion prior to the hearing as set forth in Section 2 hereof. Section 4: The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, in vacating the portion of Ward Street., as above described., does elect to proceed under the provision of the Streets and Highways Code Section 8320 etc, of the State of California. Section 5: The Street Superintendent is hereby authorized and directed to post notices of street vacation as required by law. 2, Resolution No. 1884 PASSED AND ,ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington Deaeh, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of December, 1963.
