HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1887 RESOLUTION No. 1887 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR THE PURPOSE OF RECOMMENDING LEGISLATION WHICH MOULD FORCE SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO PAY EXPENSES INCURRED FOR SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD PRO- TECTION. WHEREAS certain pupils re- siding school districts serve is 1 i p p siding in county territory and in different cities; and WHEREAS, the cost of providing crossing guards is not, therefore, appropriately a cost which should be borne by any one city; and WHEREAS, such cost should be spread throughout the school district for which the protection service is rendered; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach does resolve and order as follows: Section 1. The expense of providing school crossing guards should be borne by school districts and appropriate legislation should be adopted so to require. Section 2. The City Clerk shall forward copies hereof to the League of California Cities and to each State Legisla- tor from Orange County.
