HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1891 RESOLUTIO ,1 110. 1891 RESOLUTION OF 'fHE C OUN"C I L OF THE CITY 0ij' HUNTINGITON BEACH REQUESTING THE COU14TY OF ORANGE `20 INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF WARNER AVENUE, WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve earner Avenue from East of Algonquin Street to West of Algonquin Street, and WHEREAS, Darner Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WliKREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 91 .Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a. County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1964-65 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County ,Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW TITIE EFORE, BE IT :t ESOL`JED that the Council of the City of Huntington reach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Grange to allocate to said. City .from County "'unds the amount of 42,000.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used Resolution No. 1891 to aid said City in the improvement of 1.arner Avenue from East of Algonquin Street to West of Algonquin Street, and for the acquisition of necessary rights of way; said improvements and acquisition of rights of way to be in accordance with the attached project statement; BE IT YUMOHER RESOL71ED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on 1varner Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1964-65.
