HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 1915 RESOLUTION No. 1915 AN ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL VACATING A PORTION OF HARRIMAN STREET IN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, did by unanimous vote on the 16th day of December, 1963, at a regular meeting of said body, regu- larly and duly adopt Resolution No. 1895, entitled, "A Res- olution of Intention of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach to vacate a portion of Harriman Street in said city and giving notice of hearing of said vacation"; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach did elect to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941; and WHEREAS, the portion of the street to be vacated lies within the City of Huntington Beach and is not a por- tion of a state highway; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach did cause a copy of said resolution of intention to be published in the Huntington Beach News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Huntington Beach, by one insertion on the 26th day of De- cember, 1963; and 1. Aes.No. 1915 WHEREAS, said resolution contained a notice that the 20th day of January, 1964, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chamber in the City Hall, Huntington Beach, was the time and place when and where a public hear- ing was to be held upon said resolution of intention, at which hearing all persons interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation may be heard; and WHEREAS, notice of street vacation was posted as re- quired by law; and WHEREAS, there were no protests or persons appearing against said proposed street vacation at said hearing; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach finds and determines from all evidence submitted that the portion of Harriman Street described in said Resolution No. 1895 is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach hereby resolves as follows: Section 1. That it is ordered that that portion of Harriman Street in the City of Huntington Beach described as: 2. Res. No. 1915 That portion of Harriman Street as shown on a map of Tract Number 445, Recorded in Book 17, on Page 7 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California; said portion being more par- ticularly described as follows: A strip of land, 44 feet in width, 275 feet in length, being bounded on the west by the south- erly prolongation of the west line of Lot 380Block A. Tract 445, and by the northerly prolongation of the west line of Lot 66, Block A. Tract 45; and being bounded on the east by the west right of w&y , line of the Southern Pacific Railroad, as shown on above mentioned line, be and the same is hereby vacated for public street purposes. Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause a certified copy of this Order, attest- ed by the Clerk under the seal of this City, together with a certified copy of Resolution No. 1895 to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California.
