A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REqUESTING THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
TO CONDUCT AN ESTIMATE OF THE INCREASE IN
POPULATION OF THE CITY AS OF APRIL 1,1964
WHEREAS, Section 194.2 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California provides that any city or
city and county whose population has increased substantially
since the last Federal census may apply to the Department
of Finance to estimate the increase in population, and
IiHEREAS, said Section 194.2 provides that the Depart-
ment of Finance may make the estimate, if in the opinion
of the Department there is available adequate information
upon which to base the estimate, and
WHEREAS, certain gas, road and other taxes are based
on the latest population estimate, and it is to the city's
benefit to have such population estimate made, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to have the Department of
Finance estimate the increase in population of the City,
and the Department of Finance is willing to make such esti-
mation provided adequate information is available upon
which to base the estimate.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach does resolve as follows
Section 1. That the City requests the State of
California, Department of Finance to make an estimate of
the increase in population of the City on April 1, 1964 in
accordance with the provisions of Section 194.2 of the
Streets and Highways Code.
Section 2 The City shall provide such data as is
requested by the Department of Finance in order that they
may determine wgether adequate information is available upon
which to base an estimate of population of the city. If
such data furnished is sufficient, and the population esti-
mate is made and certified by the Department of Finance, the
City agrees to accept as final the estimate as officially
certified.
Section 3. Upon completion of said estimate of pop-
ulation, the city agrees to reimburse the Department of
Finance for all costs incurred by said department in connect-
ion with the performance of this agreement, in accordance
with the terms contained herein.
Section 4. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
Huntington Beach are hereby authorized to execute, on be-
half of the City, the agreement between the City and the
Department of Finance for the estimate of increase in popu-
lation.

of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting held
on the 16th day of March, 1964.

acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio
Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the
whole number of members of the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach is five, that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the affirmative vote of more than a majority of all
the members of said City Council at a regular meeting thereof held
on the 16th day of March 1964 by the following vote
