A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
APPOINTMENT OF THE ASSISTANT CITY ATTOR-
NEY AT A COMPENSATION GREATER THAN THE
MAXIMUM COMPENSATION FLED AND DECLARED
BY ORDINANCE, RETROACTIVE TO DECEMBER
1st, 1963.
WHEREAS, the City Council hired George Shibata as Assis-
tant City Attorney in Range 47 - Step A; and
WHEREAS, it was the true intention of the City Council
to hire Mr. Shibate in Range 47 - Step C due to his education-
al qualifications and experience;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Huntington Beach does hereby declare the employment
of George Shibata as Assistant City Attorney in Range 47, Step
C retroactive to December 1st, 1963 and that the salary dif-
ference between Step A and Step C become effective July 1st,
1964.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach, California, this 29th day of June, 1964.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and
acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-
officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do hereby
certify that the whole number of members of the City Council
of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the foregoing
resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of
more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 29thday of June ,
1964 , by the fo 1 lowing vote
