HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2012 RESOLUTION NO. 2012 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH SUBMITTING A PROPOSITION TO THE VOTERS FOR THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE MAKINC, THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND APPOINTIVE OFFICE. The City Council of the City of Huntington Beach do resolve as follows : That at the Special Municipal Election, to be held in the City of Huntington Beach on November 3rd, 1964, there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of said City, a proposition to adept an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 402, which Ordinance has been codified as Section 1241, of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code, to make the office of the City Attorney an appointive office. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVE D that the Ordinance so sub- mitted to the voters, shall be in words and figures as follows : ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH MAKING THE OFFICE OF THE CITY ATTORNEY AN APPOINTIVE OFFICE, AND END- INC SECTION 1241 OF THE HUNTINGTON BEACH ORDINANCE CODE. The People of the City of Huntington Beach do ordain as follows : Section 1. That Section 1241 of the Huntington Beach Ordinance Code be and the same is hereby amended to read in words and figures as follows : Al Section 1241. APPOINTMENT GO" CITY "".LORNEY: The City Attorney shall be appointed by the City Council and shall hold office at the pleasure of the Council. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be pub- lished by one insertion in the Huntington Beach News, a weekly newspaper published, printed and circulated in the City of Huntington Beach, ®ranee County, California, and this ordinance shall take effect and be in force, as provided by law. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to cause a proposition for the adoption of said ordinance to be Drinted on the ballot to be used at the Specia1k4unicipal Election to be held on November 3rd,- 1964, and that said -ropostion is to be printed on the ballot in sub- stantially the following form: "SHIALL THE ORDINANCE AIVIENDING SECTION 1241 OF THE HUNT-""-NG­xTON 3MAICH ORDINANCE YES CODE TO MAKE THE OFFICE OF TdE CITY AXTOIRINEY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, AN AP- NO - POINTiVE "V-"1-'FICE,, BE ADOPTED? PASSED AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting held on the 61h day of July, 1964. ATTEST: Maydt City 4 7rk Res.
