A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH GIVING
NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH OF THAT CEA_
TA,IN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED
HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS "SUNSET
BEACH No-3 ANNEXATION" AND GIVING NO-
TICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HE,&RING OF
PROTESTS THERETO.
BE IT RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUNTINGTON BEACH:
Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, a petition
was signed by owners of not less than one-fourth of the land
in the hereinafter described territory by area and by assess-
ed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of
the County of Orange, was filed with the Council of the City
of Huntington Beach on August 3rd, 1964, requesting annexa_
tion of the hereinafter described territory to said City,
that said territory which said petitioners request be annexed
to the City of Huntington Beach and which said City and its
Council propose to annex to the City of Huntington Beach is
situated in the County of Orange, State of California, hereby
designated,
"SUNSET BEACH No. 3 ANNEXATION"
is described as follows:

All that certain land situated in the State of California,
Co-dnty of Orange, described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the City Boundary of the City of
Huntington Beach, said boundary having been established by
"Sunset Harbour Annexation" in Ordinance No. 800 of said City
and having been certified by the Secretary of the State of
California on December 9, 1960, said point being the most
Northerly corner of Lot 1, Block 412 of Tract No. 21, as
shown on a map recorded in Book 9, Page 22 of Miscellaneous
Maps, records of Orange County, California, said point also
being the intersection of said Southwesterly line of said
boundary with the southeasterly line of Broadway 80.00
feet in width, as shown on said map of Tract No. 21;thence
South 42w 45' 00" East along said boundary of the City of
Huntington Beach, 497.50 feet, more or less, to the most
easterly corner of Lot 8 in said Bloc 412; thence continu-
ing along said City boundary South 42 45' 00" East, 5.68
feet more or less to the most easterly corner og lot 1 of

Nest along the southeasterly line of said lot 1, 33.80 feet
more or less to the intersection of said southeasterly 1ine
of said lot 1 with the southeasterly projection of the south
westerly line of said lot 8; thence North 43 31' 15" West
along said Southeasterly projection of said southwesterly
line of said lot 8 a distance of 5.77 feet more or less
to the southwesterly corner of said lot 8; thence North
430 31' 15" West along the southwesterly line of said lot 8,
and its northwesterly prolongation, 106.00D feet, more or less
to its intersection with the southeasterly line of Lot 7 in
said Block 412; thence South 460 28' 45" 'Nest 15.00 feet more
or less, to the most southerly corner of said lot 7; thence
North 430 31' 15" west along the southwesterly line of Lots
7,6,5,4,3 and 2 in said Block 412, a distance of 375.00 feet
more or less, to the most westerly corner of said Lot 2, said
corner beingg on said southeasterly line of Broadway; thence
North 46 28' 45" East along said southeasterly line of Broad-
way, 55.00 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.

Section 2, That the County Boundary Commission of
Orange County, California, did in session duly assembled on
June 22nd, 1964, approve the proposed annexation of the
boundaries of said "Sunset Beach No. 3 Annexation" as above
described and as submitted to said commission by the propon-
ents of said annexation of said territory to said City.
Section 3. That the local •agency Formation Commission
of Orange County as established by the State Legislature dur-
ing the 1963 session, did in session duly assembled on July 8th,
1964, hold a public hearing on said "Sunset Beach No. 3 Annex-
ation" and after hearing any and all parties who were for or
against such annexation, did approve such annexation as sub-
mitted to said Commission by the proponents.
Section 4. That September 21, 19649 at the hour of
7:30 P.N. or soon thereafter of said day, in the Council Cham-
bers in the City Hall in the City of Huntington Beach, Califor-
nia, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any
person owning property within the uninhabited territory above
described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Huntington
Beach and having any objection to the proposed annexation may
appear before the Council of the City of Huntington Beach and
show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so
annexed to said City of Huntington Beech. Such protest must
be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set
for hearing objections to the proposed annexation, and shall
state the name or names of the owner or owners of property af-
fected and the description andgrtFa of such property in general
terms.

Section 5. The City Clerk of the City of Huntington
Beach is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of
this resolution to be published at least twice, but not often-
er than once a week, in the Huntington Beach News, a newspap-
er of general circulation published in said City of Hunting-
ton Beach, the City to which it is proposed to annex the afore-
said territory and also in the " Westminster Herald", a news-
paper of general circulation published outside the City of
Huntington Beach, but in the County of Orange, California, the
County in which is located the territory proposed to be annex-
ed to the City of Huntington Beach, said publication to be
complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for
hearing.
Section 6. And the said City Clerk is further author-
ized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within
the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last
equalized county assessment roll available on the date the
above proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on
said assessment roll or as known to said Clerk, and to any per-
son who has filed his name and address and the designation
of the lanO_s in which. he has any interest; either legal or
equitable with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less
than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the
proposed annexation.

Section 7. In the event any land within the terr-
itory proposed to be annexed is owned b)y a counter, the said
City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such pro-
posed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Sup-ervisors
of such County, such notice to be given not less than
twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the pro-
posed annexation.
Section 8. The said city Clerk is directed to cause
written notice to be given to such other persons as may be
legally entitled thereto in the manner required by law.

Huntington Beach, California, at a regular meeting thereof

that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of August
1964.
