HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2055 RESOLUTION NO. 2055 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13, 1964, PERTAINING TO THE "SUNSET HEIGHTS #3 ANNEX- ATION" TO THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach, California, did, by resolution duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council call for and provide for the holding of the Special Election held on Tuesday, October 13, 1964, pertaining to the "Sunset Heights #3 Annexation" to the City of Huntington Beach; and WHEREAS, due notice of the holding of said Special Election has heretofore been given at the time and in the manner provided by law. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Hunt- ington Beach, California, do hereby resolve, determine and de- clare as follows : Section 1. (a) That the proposition submitted to the voters at such election was as follows: "SHALL THE SUNSET HEIGHTS #3 ANNEXATION BE ANNEXED TO, INCORPORATED IN AND MADE A PART OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AND THE PROPERTY IN SUCH TERRITORY BE, AFTER SUCH ANNEXATION, SUBJECT TO TAXATION EQUAL- LY WITH THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, TO PAY THE ENTIRE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH, OUTSTANDING OR AUTHORIZED AT THE DATE OF THE FILING OF THE PETITION FOR ANNEX- 1. Res. No. 2055 ATION FOR THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION OR COMPLET- TION OF MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENTS." (b) That the whole number of votes cast in the area designated as the "Sunset Heights #3 Annexation" at said Special Election, including all absentee votes, is 61. (c) That the name of the Annexation voted for, the number of votes given in each precinct to the "Sunset Heights #3 Annexation, " the absentee votes given to the "Sunset Heights #3 Annexation, " together with the whole number of votes which the said "Sunset Heights #3 Annexation" received in the entire area, are as fo llows : 2. No. 2055 Section 2. It is hereby found and declared that the area known as the "Sunset Heights #3 Annexation" was voted to be annexed to the City of Huntington Beach by a majority of the votes cast. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to enter on the records of the City Council a statement of the result of said election as required by law. Section 4. That the City Clerk shall attest and certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution by a majority of the votes of the members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach.
