A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH IN OPPO-
SITION OF THE PROPOSED HARBORS AND
BEACHES ORDINANCE, ORANGE COUNTY
HARBORS DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Huntington Harbour waterways and bulkheads
are the property of the City of Huntington Beach, and
WHEREAS, the Huntington Harbour is completely within the
corporate limits of the City of Huntington Beach, and
WHEREAS, Many problems will arise due to dual jurisdiction ,
and
WHEREAS, it is felt ;by the City, that the City needs more time
to study the proposed ordinances, and
WHEREAS, The City feels that local jurisdiction, if possible,
should be retained,
NOW THEREFORE, the City of tuntington Beach hereby resolves
that they are in opposition of the adoption of the proposed Harbors and
Beaches Ordinances as amended by the Orange County Harbor District.
More specifically; Division 2, Article 1, Section 22.011, wherein
Sunset Harbor-„ which Huntington Harbour is a part of, would be governed
exclusively by the proposed amended ordinances.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Huntington
Beach, California, this 2nd day of November, 1964.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified and acting
City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and ex-officio Clerk of
The City Council of said City, do hereby certify that the whole number
of members of the City Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five;
that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirmative
vote of more than a majority of all the members of said City Council
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day of November
1964.
