A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
APPOINTMENT OF MELWOOD A. BERRY, ACCOUNT-
ANT, AT A COMPENSATION GREATER THAN THE
MININU14 COMPENSATION FIXED AND DETERMINED
BY ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach is in need of
additional personnel in the Finance Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is
to the public interest that additional finance personnel be
employed at above the minimum compensation; and '
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the edu-
cational qualifications and experience of Melwood A. Berry
,justifies a beginning salary in excess of said minimum com-
pensation;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Huntington Beach does hereby authorize the em-
ployment of Melwood A. Berry as accountant at a beginning
salary in excess of the minimum compensation as set forth by
ordinance, to-wit# Range 41, Step C.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Huntington Beach- at a regular meeting held on the 7th day
of December, 1964.

I, PAUL C. JONES, the duly elected, qualified
and acting City Clerk of the City of Huntington Beach, and
ex-officio Clerk of the City Council of said City, do here-
by certify that the whole number of members of the City
Council of the City of Huntington Beach is five; that the
foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the affirma-
tive vote of more than a majority of all the members of said
City Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th
day of December , 1964.
