HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2082 RESOLUTION NO. 2082 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING TIDE COUIV1'Y OF ORLNGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN TITE ARTERIAL HIGF-vJAY FINA1,TCIJ3--4G PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMMNT OF WMMI 3. AVENUE. WFEFY,AS,, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Warner Avenue from 890 feet east of Ocean Avenue to 3120 feet east of Ocean Avenue, and 44HEREAS, Warner Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest,, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires., to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WIERLAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to,, by appropriate actiont provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 165-66 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW THER�P ORE, BE IT RhSOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $16,850.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of V'arner Avenue from 890 feet east of Ocean Avenue to 3120 feet east of Ocean Avenue, said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement; 1 Resolution No. 2082 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested. to find that said work and acquisition of rights of way on "Earner Avenue, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED., by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements will be available for the fiscal year t65-66.
