HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2084 RESOLUTION No. 2084 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRA,1 THE DEVELOPISNT OF AD" AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Huntington Beach desires to improve Adams Avenue from 280 feet East of Beach Boulevard to 661 feet East of Newland Street., and WHEREAS, Adams Avenue is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement., construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action,, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year t65-66 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Huntington Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $16,100.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of Adams Avenue from 280 feet East of Beach Boulevard to 661 feet Fast of Newland Street, said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement-, 1 Resolution No. 2084 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Adams Avenue,, in the manner provided., is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER IUOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Huntington Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial High— way Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the coat of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 165-66.
