HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2089 RESOLUTION No, 2089 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR FUNDS FOR LIFEGUARD SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 309 1965, AS AUTHORIZED UNDER SECTION 25551 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE. WHEREAS, the public beach located within the City of Huntington Beach, and further described as: The coastal waters and tidelands of the Pacific Ocean and tributary bays and inlets within Orange County, bounded on the South by the northerly line of Huntington Beach State Park and on the north by the following line: "Beginning at a point, said point being S 89056' 55" E 2498.57' of the southwesterly corner of Section 18, Township 5, South Range 11 West S.B. B. & M. thence S 49 28' W.3277.67' to a point thence S 49v 28' W to the line of ordinary high tide thence northerly along said line of ordi- nary high tide to its intersection with the south- erly boundary of the U.S. Naval Ammunition and Net Depot at Seal Beach", is used by large numbers of residents of Orange County gen- erally who are not residents of this City; and WHEREAS, such use increases the cost of maintenance of said Beach; and WHEREAS, this City and similar cities within Orange County, together with the County of Orange and the State of California with regard to beaches under their control, have a mutual interest in exchanging emergency lifeguard services; 1. Res. No. 2089 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED: 1. That the maintenance cost imposed on this City by said beach use by non-residents is the cost of lifeguard services in the amount of $46,800.00 for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 1965; and financial assistance by the County of Orange in that amount for said fiscal year is here- by requested under Section 25551 of the Government Code of the State of California. 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby auth- orized and directed to execute the attached Agreement with the County of Orange providing for such financial assistance and for said mutual emergency lifeguard exchange during said fiscal year.
