HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2192 RESOLUTION No. 2192 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH AMENDING CLASS SPECIFICATIONS OF THE POSITIONS OF POLICEMAN AND FIREMAN-HOSEMAN, BY AMEND- ING EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS. WHEREAS, Section 1519 of the Huntington Beach Ordi- nance Code authorizes the amendment of class specifications by resolution, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNT- INGTON BEACH HEREBY RESOLVES that the employment standards for the position of Policeman are hereby amended, and as amended shall read in words and figures, as follows : EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MusE have completed twelve ,years of school and receive a high school diploma; or completed. an academic course, with a grade of 'C' or better, at an accredited college; be between the age of twenty-one and thirty-five with the exception that the Chief of Police may, at his discretion, extend the maximum age one year for every two years of municipal police experience to a maximum of forty years of age; must have weight in pro- portion to height with a minimum weight of 145 lbs. and a min- imum height of 5'9"; pass all written, oral, physical, medical tests, and background investigations. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the employment standards for the position of Fireman-Hoseman are hereby amended, and as amended shall read in words and figures, as follows : EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS. Mus ave ig sc col graduation or equivalent; must have reached the 21st birthday but not the 31st birthday at the time of examination; must have weight in proportion to height with a minimum height of 518" and a minimum weight of 145 lbs; pass all written, oral, physical and medical examinations.
