HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council - 2202 RESOLUTION NO. 2202 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH ESTABLISHING VOTING PRE- CINCTS, ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES, APPOINT- ING ELECTION OFFICERS AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF ELECTION OFFICERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOLDING A SPECIAL. MUNICIPAL ELECTION, HERETOFORE CALLED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2186 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH'. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS. SECTION 1. That for the purpose of holding said Special Municipal Election in said City, there shall be and is hereby established forty one (41) voting precincts, consisting (of consolidations) of the regular election precincts in the City of Huntington Beach established for the holding of State and County Elections, as said regular election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this Resolution. That the polling places for the voting precincts shall be hereinafter named, and competent and qualified electors and residents of said City and of their respective voting precinct are hereby appointed officers of election for their voting precinct, and they shall hold said election and make return thereof in the manner provided by law. 1 . That the compensation of the person herein- above named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum_ of Twenty-one Dollars ($21.00) for Inspector and Eighteen Dollars ($18.00) for Judge and each Clerk for said election. The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of Fifteen Dollars ($15 .00) for said election. The compensation for Messengers is hereby fixed at the sum of Two Dollars and 50/100 ($2.50) per hour. 1.5 RES. NO* 2202 SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolution of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which same is passed and adopted. SECTION 4. This resolution shall take effect immedi- ately.
